On-tap at Beachwood BBQ, on to the beer:

This Belgian-styled single is a somewhat pale orange color, topped with a creamy inch of head. That head retains well, and it leaves good lacing around as well. That aroma takes on a dry and spicy character, bringing mint, spices, and candi sugar to the nose. The taste takes a different turn from the aroma. It starts with a taste of boiled corn and corn sweetness (corn in a Belgian style, heresy!). That fades away and allows toasted sugar and spice to be tasted. It's a light, creamy ale that refreshes, that ultimately makes a fine afternoon drink.

01/16/13 On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Follows a Unibroue Eau Benite abbey triple which is like witnessing a AAA player at the plate in the majors for the first time.

There is something worthy of attention here, but I'm temporarily distracted. Shows my shortcomings as an objective person.

In the desert island scenario this would not be the one, but if a case washed ashore I'd fashion a bottle opener.

I had this on tap at Federal Taphouse in Harrisburg enjoyed chilled in a tulip.

The color is a very clear dark golden with thick head of off white with fine bead. The smell is faintly fruity with a pear like scent and slight spice almost peppery in the yeast ester. The feel is good moderate carbonation and gentle sweetness to augment the slight dry finish with mild yeast and alcohol influence.

The flavor is very good, smooth cracker-like malt presence with slight tinge of dried pear and perhaps a floral aspect with mild alcohol which is almost not noticeable. The yeast adds a sublte spice elemtent but it is pretty gentle and overall this is easy to drink. I would get this again since I feel it is a good representation of a Belgian Singel
