Style: German Pilsner

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.80%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Also known as Premium Pils

Note first the bright, fresh golden colour and rich frothy head so typical of this elegant Pilsner beer. Its refined herbal notes are delicately poised, followed by a nutty and honeyed aftertaste. The overall impression of this gently sparkling beer is one of deep harmony, with the unmistakeable bitterness of the hops balanced and contained by an agreeable, mellow sweetness in the body.

Pours with an amber color and thin, fading head. Sharp carbinaton leads the tast, which is a floral hop forward and light bodied brew. There is a sweet malt note that blooms with a cream and alcohol palate. The finish is dry witj a slight touch of spice. Not bad for such a large brewer.

Pours a clear light golden color with a one inch white head that dissipated quickly and left little lacing. Smells and tastes of bready malts, lemon, grassy notes, pepper and floral notes. Light bodied, medium carbonation, watery mouth feel, light bitterness with a mildly dry finish. Overall a disappointment.

Poured from 500ml can into glass. Dating stamping on can bottom - '2019.01.09 2018.01.09 00:02'.
Clear, pale gold colored body. One finger, brilliant white head which settles to thin cap and ring. Left behind are a few strings of lacing.
Aroma of bready malt, with floral and spicy hops. Fills the nostrils effectively.
Taste continues from the aroma, with soft bready malts and floral and spicy hops, with a little pepper in the last half. A little spicy but no bitterness.
Thin to medium mouth feel, with a pleasant softness throughout. Good carbonation.
Easy drinking pilsner with more malt than others. Excellent session choice on the patio during languid, warmer weather. Much better than drinking an AAL, but I did not find an ABV% designation on the can.

(500 ml can, canned 2017.11.29... poured into a straight-sided glass mug)

L: crystal-clear, pale gold liquid; three-finger tall stand of open, rocky-spongy white foam on the pour - collapsed slow, then a second pour filled the mug... thought it would hold its head more firmly, but it receded greatly, left only a few thin streaks of crystalline lace

S: pretty typical German pils aromas: floral/herbal hops jutting out atop soft pilsner malt base, subtle spicy phenols, lightly-peppery - standard all around, shows little degradation with age/storage

T: similar expressions of flavor on the palate, with the malt being a little plumper in the middle and the finish having a sharper, brighter phenolic note and pungent, peppery bitterness... could easily bump this up a few abv and have a champagnesque malt liquor

F: light-bodied, but with a noticeable delicate, mildly-syrupy viscosity which prevents a watery finish... maybe a lot of the gas spilled out on the pour, because the carbonation was a little soft... its bitter zip leaves a refreshing sting on the palate, kinda offsetting its shapeless malt construct

O: nondescript, everyman German pale lager, I guess... what stands out is it's more maltier than expected... gotta recheck the price, but it wasn't too expensive and is a tastier, more substantial substitute for any AAL or mild-abv malt liquor

The beer is a clear gold with a lot of carbonation. The beer has a foamy head that thinned out rather quickly. The beer is very light in aroma. There is a very light hop aroma. The flavor is also very subtle. Has a light sweetness on the front and ends with a light grassy hop bite. The beer is overall crisp and easy to drink.

German Pilsner. Dry. Flat. Bitter.
But with BBQ it's okay. Because you don't pay attention to the taste that much.
Good that the carbonation is not too annoying and the bitterness is also not too bad. Kind of B category beer.

First beer in Germany. Pours clear, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is grass and pilsner malt a bit peppery too. Light bodied, crisp, medium carbonation, and sweet. Nice and clean pilsner. Could have several.
