Purchased at Franky Getrankemarkt in Hilpolstein and then drunk at Camping Insel in Bamberg in September 2023.

L: Thick, hazy, light copper brown with a cream-coloured, thin head. No carbonation can be seen.

S: Minerally, herbal; wet, cut hay; clay.

T: sweet, minerally, herbal, old hay. Long, grainy finish.

M: initially full in the mouth but becomes spritzy and soda-like and a little thin on the swallow.

o: An interesting beer using six types of malt, but the long, grainy finish and soda-like mouthfeel don't add to the experience.

Cheers!

500ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£3):
Dark, cloudy amber with a fingers-width tall, foamy to creamy white head that holds pretty good over the opening minutes before eventually having in size.

Lots of malts & some bread with some sweetness. It's not particularly strong on the nose, there is some bitterness and wheat with the beer almost hinting at being a hefeweizen with some background fruits & grain.

Wheat & banana kick things off with the beer again seeming like a hefeweizen but the grains & strong malts soon take over with touches of sweetness. Caramel & further grains start to come through & although the beer wasn't the greatest to begin with, almost seeming bland, it did pick up around the middle with some spice featuring as well.

Lots of grain & sweetness on top of a light-medium body & medium carbonation. There is some spice & a dry finish that is followed by quite a bitter aftertaste.

Fairly average in truth, it starts with some wheat & spice with background fruits but it still seems to come across as quite a bland one before improving some around the middle. Definitely drinkable but it wasn't overly enjoyable & won't be one I'll pick up again.

At first as the initial carbonation is settling it looks a lot like a dirty roggen. It is a cloudy copper, once it settles. It has a yeasty a bit sour grass like aroma. The flavor is biscuit with sweet malt and mildly weizen like. There is some grass tones as well. The feel is light than one might imagine.

Should be interesting. Pours hazy dark orange, one finger fluffy head, great retention.
Big cereals in the smell, fresh bread, hops, faint citrus.
The taste is rich in malts, standing proof that "beer is liquid bread". I can clearly tell apart some wheat and sweet oats, but there's just a rich complex malty taste. Hints of nuts and caramel. Hops provide a great citrus zest to lift the heaviness and a nice herbal bitterness in the finish.
Creamy, fluffy, almost doughy, quite a full body, with a low carbonation, but personally i've had heavier weizens than this beer, the hop selection was really smart.
Tasty liquid bread, not eating anything else today, thank you!

A orange, copper beer with a big frothy head. Darker than I expected from the name.

The beer smells bready and grainy with some faint herbal and flowery hops.

The taste is light and has a light grainy taste that reminds of bread. The 6 different kind of grains are a nice gimmick and with a little imagination I can taste a complexity of them. The mouthfeel is light. The yeast does not seem to add a lot of character, it is most probably a bottom fermenter. Not too impressive.

500ml bottle served in a chalice.

A: Pours a dark hazy amber to beige color forming a medium creamy dense beige head. Good retention and some lacings formed and left in the glass

S: Extremely grainy in the nose, expected from a six malt beer. Strong notes of barley, oatmeal, wheat, caramel and roasted malts. Also notes of flowery, earthy and citrus hops

T: As the nose, extremely grainy. Sweet upfront. Notes of caramel malts, oatmeal, wheat and roasted malts. Hops are earthy and citrus. Cascade-like. However, bitterness is light as expected from a German beer. Yeasts are very biscuity and bready. Lager style

M: Very creamy and heavy body. Most probably due to the oatmeal and wheat in the formula. Medium carbonation. Bready and grainy aftertaste

O: Good drinkability. Different from any other beer I've had. Interesting

Dense, light cream colored head faded quickly to a thick film. Hazy chestnut colored beer is reminiscent of a Dunkel Weizen. Malty aroma with hints of caramel and cocoa along with a touch of apple. Definitely a bit of yeasty banana in the flavor, some cocoa too, and a faint fruity tang. Definitely an interesting mix of flavors. Closer to good then bad, but a hair strange. I would guess this was an ale... and according to the website it's top fermented. Even so I don't think it fits nicely into any category, which isn't such a bad thing. Moderately full bodied, minimal fine carbonation and a hint of sourness (that tangy flavor) make for a unique mouthfeel. Being a home brewer I've had my fair share of beers with sour apple flavors, and it's not something I like in a commercial beer (whether it's supposed to be there or not). The cocoa and yeasty banana aromas/flavors more then balance out the apple, but it brings the beer down a notch. The six malts and the ale yeast lead to a beer that is has many interesting attributes, and it's possible you'll like it. For me it's just o.k.

Purchased at the BSF bar, GBBF 06. The intriguing name "6-Korn" was the sole reason for me to get this bottle. Coming in a screw-capped, 500ml brown bottle, unfiltered. The beer label shows indeed six kinds of grains are used in the brew: malted-spelt, -wheat, -rye, -barley, -oat, and -Emmer wheat... sounds like a bottle of whole-meal, mixed-grain bread!! BB 03/01/07, served chilled in a weizen glass.

A: cloudy, dark chestnut-brown hue, poured with a nice, thick layer of off-white froth sustaining extremely well; the carbonation is lively but not OTT, full of tiny bubbles.
S: lightly lemony hops give a refreshing edge to a semi-thick layer of roughly grounded, mixed grains (can't tell them apart...), showing hints of toffee-ish maltiness, hazel-nuts, whole-meal breads and a touch of licorice... Smooth, rounded, very grainy and reasonably complex~~
T: mouthful of mildly-chewy oats, barleys, and nuts with a mild hint of lightly caramelised sugar, while the lighter input from grainy+bready wheat-maltiness linger pretty well till the finish, accompanied by a clean palate of hops and a mildly sour edge of yeastiness at each step. Finished slightly too clean with a funny licorice aftertaste... The grains are surprisingly well-blended, yet falling short of more body and complexity for reasons beyond my knowledge.
M&D: gearing towards light-bodied and thin-ish in texture, which I suppose is attributed to a higher proportion of different kinds of wheat in this brew? And the fizziness is slightly too spritzy as well... Yet given its special profile, this is an interesting brew worth a try all the same. Really like the liquid form of a loaf of mixed grain bread...!
P.S. Really don't know to which catogory to submit this beer, and the style Dunkel is perhaps the nearest to it... IMO.
