The colour is orange-yellow with a tint of brown (25 EBC), the liquid is cloudy. The high compact white head slowly sinks down leaving lots of thick sticky lacing.

The smell is fresh with lots of sweet-sour wheat flavours. Some earthy notes. Ripe bananas, cloves, allspice, and lettuce and a touch of wheat dough.

The taste is less sweet than most Bavarian wheat beers. Spicy notes of cloves, allspice and nutmeg. Some distinct earthy flavours and a touch of baker’s yeast. Medium body. The aftertaste is quite mild and smooth with fruity flavours of bananas, apricots and green grapes. The body fades after a while, leaving some metallic bitterness and notes of green bananas in the finish.

Carbonation is medium strong. The large bubbles are smooth. The liquid is very sticky.

An OK Hefeweissen, shame about the metallic notes in the aftertaste though.

A: Pour is all white thick but still light head at first. After a while, the liquid appears; hazy pale orange. Quite some lacings.

S: Cloves and ripe sweet bananas - very obvious wheat. There is also ripe oranges and some faint bitter hops. Spice and yeast.

T: The wheat is present but rather suttle. You have the bananas and some yeast along with spicyness, but the barley malts are quite strong. Bready.

M: The rather strong barley makes this "heavier" than your ordinary Hefe, not bad but not very refreshing. Carbonation is strong but rather mild and the aftertaste is very short.

O: Interesting with more barley than I'm used to in a Hefe, not bad but not quite true to the style.
