This ale has its origins in the traditional English style, with a generous helping of American exuberance. Bright copper in color, it has an assertive hop bitterness balanced with a subtle malt foundation. Dry hopping at two sates of the brewing process provides floral and fruity hop flavors adding to the complexity of the brew. Original gravity ~ 1060; Alcohol by volume -- 6%.

Not very hoppy, tastes like an American ale.

Wow. Very disappointed in this, surprisingly. Aroma was promising, with more citrus character present than I'd expect from an East Coast IPA. I was excited, but then I took a sip. First thing I noticed was that it was way too malt-forward, and toasted malt flavored at that, which I did not expect, or appreciate, in an IPA. Hop presence was weak.. something I didn't expect from Geary's, a brewery whose Summer Ale is even rugged. Very disappointing. The mouthfeel: thin, and had a strange quality that the flavor of the beer somehow wasn't incorporated into the actual LIQUID of the beer.. As if they stood apart somehow. I don't know if that makes any sense, but whether it does or not, this is an experience I'll not be repeating.

12 oz bottle. Twist off.
It pours a clear copperish amber with a soapy, foamy slightly off white head that leaves speckled lacing.
The smell is not as citrus or hoppy as you would want.
The flavor is mild fruity, and more malt than I'd LIke .
Overall, OK. but not out there with the best IPAs.

Good for an English IPA, sessioned quite a few of these at a recent wedding and was satisfied.
