Reddish brown, thin head modest lacing

Toffee, yeast, bread on the nose

Toffee, banana, burnt caramel, slightly acid finish to a very smooth pallet. Very restrained hop bitterness. Very drinkable

Full mouth with moderate carbonation.

Good overall, complex yet easily drinkable, rich malt sweetness not cloying.

Bottled purchased in Bavaria, in a straight pint glass. Pours with a reasonable head, dark chestnut colour like cola, a slight stout like flavour at first, well carbonated, very drinkable.

From Hipercor. 50cl. In Bavaria glass. Playing Tomb Raider 2015. A bit smokey but pretty drinkble and enjoyable anyways. It’d be good to repeat to be sure how much I like it.

23 Jul 2017. From Costco. 33 cl. In Teku glass. At lunch, with fried potatoes with eggs + cordom bleu. This time I didnt find the smokey notes but nice toffee notes

Pours dark, cola brown with no head, just an oily sheen on top. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and nuts. Taste is molasses, caramel, and sweet. Sweetness masks the alcohol content, which is sort of present in the smell ,but not at all in the taste.

A: A bronze, reddish tint of auburn. Large tanned head made a quick getaway, low amount of lacing.

S: Caramel, banana and a hint of booze.

T: On the sweet side, dangerously drinkable as the booze was almost undetectable, finished with a hint of slightly burnt caramel.

M: Light body for the style, not much carbonation, smooth, slipped down well.

O: Probably the least boozy dopplebock I’ve ever had, also managed to be subtle for the high ABV.

Dark amber color with beige head. Aroma has toasted malts, dark sugar and rye bread. Taste starts malty, just slightly sweet with caramel notes and gets bitter on the finish with more roastiness. Body is medium, a bit soft at first but leaves your mouth very dry. Quite good overall. Easy to drink with a well hidden alcohol content.

The beer offers rich malt complexity with chewy whole grain, toasted malts, caramel sweetness, some dark fruits, a light hop bitterness. Onto a crisp lager finish and a medium plus mouthfeel.

Bottle picked up at the COOP over the weekend.. Pours pretty clear dark walnut brown with garnet highlights where the light gets through.. no real head or retention.. Deep bready toast with big boy maltiness that never verges on too sweet, though I do suspect the bottle spent too much time on a boat.. just seems a bit flat tasting across the board.

When you've had a couple lousy brews from a brewery, you start to think they won't produce anything worthwhile. This beer was a bit of redemption. Brown with a medium head and some lacing. Nose is sweet malts, leaving you expecting lots of caramel and dried fruits. Taste is sweet malts as expected. Some molasses and dark sweet breast notes. Not particularly complex, but pretty good. Overall, a surprisingly decent brew from a brewery I wasn't expecting much from.
