This beer got a bright, clear yellow colour with a hint of amber. The foam is tiny, white and made of big bubbles.
The nice lager smell is filled with fresh hops with a small hint of cedar wood.
The carbon dioxide is soft, yet distinct with small bubbles.
The fist taste impression is a clear and dry bitterness that on changes into a sweet mixture of malts with a dry, almost metallic taste. There is an almost imperceptible burned taste in the background. Then, the taste transforms into a fine bitterness from the blend of hopes that make a peaceful coexistence with the sweet body from the malts.
This is a very nice lager beer in the bitterer league. It probably works great with a steak and some fried potatoes. The small (almost micro-) brewery Slottskällans (it is located in the town of Uppsala, hence the name for this beer) really spoils us beer-loving Swedes with a wide range of fine brews!
