Holsten 'Maibock' @ 7.0% , served from a 500 ml can
A-pour is light gold from the can to a clear light gold in the glass with a small white head , dissipating into a minimal lace ring along the pilsner glass
S-hints of hops
T-clean & crisp Euro lager
MF-ok carbonation , big medium body
Ov-just not my style of beer

Pours a clear, light golden straw colour. Three inch thick head that is very airy and bubbly, does collapse into a fairly foamy half inch thick head that lasts a few minutes.
Aromas range from well, not too good to fairly typical. Malty, with a mild skunk ones and metallic ring to the aroma. Typical bready nose with some pale earthy aromatic hop smells here and there.
Taste thankfully does not appear to have much of the metallic undertones that the nose had, which surprised me. Instead I was met with a relatively indistinct yet straightforward, crisp beer. Like a few maibocks and Oktoberfestbiers I’ve had, there is a very unique, slightly strange savoury note in the palate. To this day I’m not sure what it is. It isn’t bad, but it is unique to some mass produced beers of particular German styles. Bready, earthy, mildly skunky, and just a bit funky. Sweet caramel undertones, malty flavours, lack of hop bitterness so not a lot of grassy flavours here. As mentioned, likely brewed to be straightforward and easy drinking.
Light-ish bodied with a very sweet taste, the carbonation is small bubbled but very frothy on the sip. Tiny bubbles prick your tongue and mouth all the way down. Makes for a unique mouthfeel.
Overall it’s not a bad beer at all, at the higher percent it’s nice for certain segments of the population who want an easy drinking beer, and want to drink a lot of it without having to go to pale, watery macro brews of North America. For people who like Bock beer, I can’t exactly recommend it when there are many others out there at the same price point or slightly above that offer much better flavour.
Oh, and as noted this is absolutely a beer to be drank ice cold. Unlike others, good flavours do not come out as it warms up.

Look: dark yellow, foam disappears quickly
Smell: reminiscent of most malty, mass produced beers
Taste: fairly sweet, very little bitterness for a 7% beer
Feel: not harsh
Takes like a molson or Budweiser, but higher alcohol. Has its uses

A decent German seasonal.
The only downside here is the aluminium-taste from the can completely ruins the taste of what should be at least a 3.5.

An appropriate color for the style, but the head didn't stick around too long.
I liked the taste. A lot. Fairly sweet, with sugary alcohol tones. Still, it was plenty malty and not all sugar.
Easy drinking, which is dangerous with a 7% brew!

Another OK beer in a tall can. This is obviously mass produced Bock, intended to be consumed in substantial quantities. The high alcohol content is well hidden, so this would be a dandy beer for an Octoberfest Oom Pa Pa.
