Bailey's is a nice enough sports bar in Chapel Hill. It is clean and comfortable, also it does not feel too bland (as sports bars can be).

I was in on Jan. 10 of this year to play at an event called Elvisfest. I believe this is their first year hosting, as they seemed slightly unprepared for a bunch of tattooed pomp'd rockabilly cats. The bands played off in the larger billiards areas and it was great. I just felt for all of the folks in the dining room trying to enjoy themselves and there's all these drunk weirdos roaming around... y'know?

Anyway. Beer selection was basic. Of course all of the macros were covered, but there were some decent local and regional options (Sweetwater, LoneRider, etc.) They were having a promotion with Foothills so the year-rounds were all featured. They had cider on tap which is not a make-or-break detail but still, I believe, worth noting.

Food is pretty good. They were very very busy and the waitstaff fucked up my drummer's burger not once, not twice, but three times. Though our server was very apologetic and the manager insisted on comping his meal- so it was handled well.

I suppose my "$$$" rating is based on what I believe basic beer and decent food should cost- but then again, it is Chapel Hill.

This is an average place pretty much. It's got a lot of TV's all over the place, so it's a great place to watch a game. The food is pretty good, basically standard bar food, but you can do a lot better in the area for the same price. Their pizzas are actually pretty good, but again you can get better for the price in the area. As far as their beer selection goes, there are about 30 taps, but they really couldn't have done a worse job picking out how to use them. Almost all Macros on the taps, with several decent and drinkable beers, but nothing special (Red Oak, Sweetwater, Red Hook Longhammer IPA, Magic Hat). Their beer prices are way too high, unless you go on a Tuesday, when it's $2 draft day. That and the TV's are pretty much the only reason to go.

Average, Average, Average. An Average slection and Average selection of beer. That's why I rated them all 3's nothign was great or horrible.

atmosphere - great and love the location and area. really lose to the main part of town. These are very simlar to Fox and the Hound. Same ownship group.

quality- Food and beer were good but their better options in town

service- well our service was good and it looked like an efficeint bar overall

selection- Nohting crazy but better than a Chilis or other macro chain resturants

food- It's pretty good but I would never bragg that I ate there and tell someone how great it is.

value- well they don;t rip you off there and they have some decent speicals. Overall it's goo for what you get.

Sister to the Fox & Hound. Same atmopshere and menu--seemingly straight out of a Sears catalogue. Not sure why this place is in the Beerfly database but I will review it.

Sports bar atmosphere. A decent enough plce to catch a game but not really any reason to hit up for the beer. Decent enough pub grub food but stay away from the brisket... just too salty.

A few worthwhile selections on the beer menu but mostly fairly common availability items. Surprisingly they do not try to take advantage of the North Carolina offerings. Service was adequate but I was rather annoyed that our srver was either drunk or stoned (perhaps both?). She also knew nothing about beer and looked at me funny when I asked if they had any hefes.

Went to watch some Stanley Cup finals at Bailey's. They have a bunch of TVs. None HD. The restaurant is clean and service was pretty good with the waitresses taking care of everyone. There is also billiards and cigars sold and a room to smoke them in. Lots of seating in booths and tables and a bar. There is also apparently a "Mug Club." You pay $25 and get to have a 22 oz mug for the same price as a pint and half off appetizers.

Selection is decent on tap. The bottle selection is pretty good. I remember a couple of Sam Smith's and even a "lambic" (know what I mean?) on the menu of bottles. Food was not that great. Just standard bar fair. The wings were alright, but perhaps the smallest I have ever seen. The pizza was an attempt at gourmet pizza and I'm really a fan of greasy disgusting pizza.

The only real problem with this place is that everything seems to cost up to about twice what I think it should. New Castle pints on draft for I think $4.50. The special on Monday was not that great either Budweisser Select for $2.50 or around there.

Bailey's is a great place to watch a game in Chapel Hill. They have two huge rooms with pool tables, and multiple tv's. The bar is large with about 30 taps (mostly macro taps).

Bailey's food selection is 'taproom' fare. A lot of finger food, sandwiches, fish and chips and others. They have good burgers and fries. Overall the food selection and consistency is good.

The beer selection is also one of the better selections in chapel hill. A large portion of the taps are macrobrew, but the bottles are definately worth a look.

If you are looking for some sports, or wanting to play a little pool, while enjoying a craft beer, you would do just fine checking out Bailey's.
