Quick review from notes.

Pours a dark reddish brown with nice ruby highlights when held to the light. Frothy halo of tan parchment colored foam around the edges of the glass, some light spotty lace as well.

Aromas of wet barrel, apple and underripe raspberry sourness.

Fruity apple and underripe berry, vanilla, dry woody finish. Cleanly sour with a moderate level of acid to it. Flavor has an interesting complexity, it was pretty sour, reminiscent of La Folie and Oude Tart, much less acetic though. Interesting collaborative blend, hope to see more variations in the future.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a clear brown with a foamy bone head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is sour with malt, fruit, acidic, and slight nail polish remover aromas. Taste is much the same with sour malt, fruit, and acidic flavors on the finish. There is a high amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with very sour flavors but it could benefit from a bit more carbonation.

750 ml bottle poured into a wine glass.

A blending of 4 separate barrel aged beers that were then further aged in oak for an additional year.

Appearance: Dark ruby red in color. An aggressive pour yielded just a dusting of an off white head that dissipated instantly to a thin collar. Body is relatively clear when held up to light.

Smell: Sour cherries, balsamic vinegar, red berries, leather, oak, hint of toasted almond.

Taste: Medium high acidic sourness accompanies flavors similar to the nose.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied slick mouthfeel. Very low, gentle carbonation.

Overall: Interesting collaboration beer. This easily could have ended up being a mess, but the different beers worked well together. Could have been better if the acidity were turned down a bit, as it seemed to overpower the other flavors, but overall still a good offering. At $30+ per bottle, though, it won't be a repeat purchase.
