22oz bomber into tulip

Appearance - Dark golden and totally hazed over, 1.5 finger head recedes into a pretty thick foam cap, leaves awesome sticky lacing!

Smell - The nose is not very potent, but the Mosaic hops are showing off a bit of musty, earthy, fruitiness.

Taste - Turbo charged fresh hop blast coats the entire mouth! Dank and piney, earthy and fruity sweet like over-ripe melon and peach, a little spicy/fusel note with citrusy grapefruit, perfumey and floral... Mosaic is showing itself to be a very complex hop indeed. There is minor grainy, bready malt hanging out behind the scenes with some estery yeast, letting the hops shine but providing some sweetness and balance. Finishes off dry with moderately potent hoppy bitterness.

Feel - Velvety smooth medium-full body. Carb is tight, ample, and scrubs the palate nicely.

Overall - If you're wondering what Mosaic hops taste like, this is your beer, and man, are these complex, unique hops! It's difficult to nail down any one flavor that's coming through. Also, as Deschutes nails time and again, it's perfectly malted with a sublime body to complement and balance the hoppy onslaught. Awesome beer.

[Original rating 2014-12-19] Pours slightly hazy gold with a medium white head. Aroma of bread, grass, earth. Taste starts sweet with a bitter spicy finish, aftertaste is flowery. Nice mouth feel.

Wow-- is this ever an excellent beer. So much hop flavor, but without the excessive hop bitterness.
The aroma is divine as well. And it only improves as it warms up a bit.
I need to find more of this.

Pours brilliant straw, with a faily persistent white foam cap. Light grains and hop nose - tropical fruit, some herbal and pine notes. This is a hop driven beer featuring tropical fruit flavors and herbal,. earthy notes. Medium body and carbonation.

22oz bottle poured into a tulip glass

A- pours a bright golden yellow color with a two-finger foamy and sudsy white head that retains long after the pour, leaving some nice lacing behind

S- fresh juicy hop aroma with notes of orange & grapefruit, red berries, pine, mint leaf, fresh cut grass, earth & herbs. Lightly sweet underlying malt

T- hop-forward flavor up front gives notes of pine, orange peel, red berries, mint and some herbal flavor. Hops remain juicy through the mid-palate, eventually giving way to faint underlying malt sweetness, more hops on the linger

M- medium body with moderate-low carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a crisp dry finish

O- big juicy hop flavors thought with high drinkability, an awesome showcase of the mosaic hop
