Love descutes. One of my favorites breweries but this is by far one of the worst craft beers I’ve ever had.
Malts and hops are imabalanced. Alcohol taste with no hints of anything special. No aroma. Expected so much more. Good carbonation and lacing. Can’t even describe this beer.

Bright copper/amber colored beer pours out into a stange glass with a 1/2” white head that receding rapidly to a thinly cover the surface while leaving a persistent pattern of lacing on the sides of the glass.

Aromas include caramel malt, complimented by melon and pine from the hops. Nicely balanced.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied punctuated by moderate carbonation. The middle begins emphasizes caramel sweetness balanced by melon and citrys. Finish is short and bit dry.

The clear bright copper/amber colored beer pours out into a Duvel glass with a 1/2” off white head that recedes slowly but visibly to a thin cover over most of the surface while leaving a persistent pattern of lacing on the sides of the glass. Sipping creates a couple of arches and lots of small patches and legs of lacing.

The aromas include a noticeable, well rounded caramel malt background complimented by some almost fruity aromas that include pine needles and citric grapefruit from the hops

The flavors are much as expected from the nose with the pine needles and grapefruit from the hops as well as a noticeable caramel sweetness from the malt backbone. The malt and its sweetness are in a very nice balance with the bitterness in that neither conceals the other and each keeps the other from becoming unpleasant.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and a bit prickly from the moderate carbonation. The fairly long finish begins as the caramel sweetness briefly allows the pine and grapefruit to become more prominent as they are all slowly fading. Both the malt sweetness and the fruity, citric and piney bitterness from the hops are present throughout the finish to the clean, crisp semi-dry lingering ending.

In Sum: Very drinkable beer with a very well balanced interplay between the not overly complicated hops and the malt. I'll add this APA my guest offerings of APAs.

Overall, this is a very drinkable beer with a very well balanced interplay between the hops and the malt. I definitely expect to be having more of this one since it is a very enjoyable APA and I could see adding it to my regular rotation of APAs.

Smooth creamy fruit aroma. Surprising for Cascade, but it reminds me of Deschutes’ fresh hopped beers that IMO come off soapy. This is quiet pleasant. Lighter bodied than Dale’s and I get an English ale ester vibe. I’d love to try this on cask.
