P- Wegmans in Mechanicsburg, PA

A- dull orange color that is mostly clear and see through. not much head and no lacing.

S- sweet caramel malts and pine dominate the nose. I get some faint hints of citrus on the back end.

F- ooh this is tasty. the hops come through with pine and citrus that have a nice complement to each other. the alcohol itself comes through on the back end as well.

M- light bodied, crisp and smooth all the way around. the hops linger in the mouth just long enough and the malts finish it off.

O- a great pale ale. A top 15 beer and a top 7 pale ale. worth a case.

12oz bottle in a pint glass.

A- Golden amber color, 2F fluffy off-white head. Clear, lightly carbonated. Nice rings of lacing.

S-Light bready malts. The "hop nose" is hard to find.

T-Mild caramel malts, not sweet. Some hops.

M- Silky smooth medium body. Hop tang that goes to the end.

O- It improved as it warmed, the flavors and aromas were hidden by the chill, perhaps.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a standard pint glass. Appears a deep amber color with hints of orange throughout. The head is off-white, very fluffy and sticks around for a while, leaving lacing as it dissipates.

The nose is caramel, bread, pine and citrus. There is a good balance here, but the malts are slightly forward for me. This is also a little subdued on the aroma. The taste is very balanced, with lots of good maltiness in the middle (again the caramel and breadiness). The front and back-end are balanced out nicely with the citrus and pine. The pine is more present in the finish than the citrus, but all around, fairly decent.

The mouthfeel is just where it should be: medium bodied, average levels of carbonation. Overall, this is a very good pale ale. It is drinkable, refreshing, very well balanced and keeps you coming back for more.

Color- medium straw. Thick medium head.

Aroma- sweet and mellow with citrus hints of sweet malt.

Taste- Like a hoppy lager. Light, good for after mowing the lawn. Starts with a tinge of lager then gets mildly hoppy and finishes with a pleasant mild hoppiness. Maybe my bottle was not fresh?

Poured from 355 ml bottle into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass). Tasted 7/7/2013.
