An excellent pale ale. Subtle biscuit, caramel flavors and so refreshing. What a pale ale should be.

Tasted at the Portland Public House, served in a 4 oz sample glass. Clear, amber gold with bright white foam. Bready malt and lightly fruity esters shore up a solid ale base with citrus, pine and earthy hops adding just enough bitter punch. Medium body and good carbonation. Far from a modern hop bomb, the balance and restraint shine in this classic Northwest pale ale.

Follow up (19-Aug-17): Tried again from a bottle ("best by: 10/04/17"), poured into a 7 oz Libbey Gibraltar glass. Clear amber gold with a frothy, soap sud head of near white foam and patchy lace. Ester aromas, pine needles and lemon zest on the nose. Nicely balanced grains, slight caramel, lemon peel, pine and earthy, floral, bitter hop finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Flavorful but smooth, easy to drink a few.

Twelve ounce bottle copped from Pub 365 in Las Vegas. Pours a ruddy copper hue with minimal frothing. Mellow aroma replete with hints of hops and citrus. Sweet taste.

The appearance has a golden orange colored body with a one and a half finger white foamy head, ringy foamy lacing graces the sides of the glass, spider webs a bit. The smell is floral yet bready, some caramel comes through. The taste is pretty the same as the smell, bready yet somewhat floral aftertaste, and has no finish. The palate is about light to medium, somewhat sessionable. Carbonation is pretty smooth for the style and is pretty good to me. Overall, it is a nice flavorful and satisfying APA that has a good drinkability worthy to consume with its respected food. I’d have this one again.

20 oz pub glass.
Hazy - Orange. Smells fruity, floral, and fresh. Tastes fruity, a bit grainy and of caramel. Very, very smooth, with little bitterness from the hop(s). A top-notch beer throughout, and one of my favorites in this style. The PA beers I've had are so far apart in the hop spectrum, it's a delight tasting them all.

I wish this was sold in Delaware, I'd be a regular buyer.

Mirror Pond Pale Ale | Deschutes Brewery. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, the head is two fingers thick, with webbed lacing, and a deep golden body.

Smells like slightly sweet full-bodied grains with milder citrus hops.

I taste clean, bright, and grassy malts with the hops adding a big juicy kiss of flavor.

Medium-light mouthfeel with mild carbonation.

Overall, I'll choose to give Mirror Pond Pale Ale | Deschutes Brewery a 4.
