Pours black, with a few ruby tinges towards the light, full finger creamy tan head, slowly fading to a long lasting thick sticky lace.
Nice milky chocolate in the smell, some salted dark malts, not extremely roasted, therefore not a huge coffee note, but sweet and creamy. Licorice, mild dark fruit, hints of wood and nuts, even vanilla.
There's a crispness in the start that i wasn't ready for along with the creaminess, something like milk and orange pulp. Chocolate and caramel follow, a bit of generic dark fruit too. Before the roasted malts start to creep up, there's a nice spicy character, with some star anise, low licorice, coconut flakes and some tea-leafy herbs. Green hops and roast in the finish, and as an extra tasty note, the creaminess is still present. This is where you get a small hint of coffee too.
"Creamy" is the main word for this beer. Smooth body, tho a bit too fizzy, and the crispness makes it surprisingly "fresh" for a porter.
Not a heavy one, feels like a dessert without being too sweet, like a dark roasted ale without being too burnt, a nice mix of crisp citrusy hops, cream and chocolate.

Had on draft at Morgan's Pier in Philly

A-Appearance was clear ruby brown with creamy mocha lasting 1 finger head, rings of lacing.

S-Aromas are toffee, roasted barley, chocolate and hints of coffee and cherry.

T-Taste are toffee, caramel malts upfront then gives way smooth soft chocolate and coffee middle with roasted barley backend.

M-Palate was soft smooth carbonation with light-medium body, then a lasting glorious balanced finish.

O-Overall an excellent porter prefect for the summer or winter.

Drank this 12oz chilled bottle poured into my beer glass.

Appearance: rich brown when pouring, thick, opaque black in the glass. 2-finger light tan head that dissipated slowly and left lacing around the glass.

Smell: Very light smell, and hard to grasp. It's clean, some hops. Sweet, a little chocolaty, and a light metallic undertone.

Taste: It's almost a shock when you taste your first sip. It's bursting with an "oomph". Pretty hoppy, and fairly bitter for the first couple sips, but after soon has flavors of crispy fruit and chocolate, with an undertone that reminds me of sweet tarts. Quickly melds into a long-lasting aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: A little too carbonated for my taste. Otherwise very smooth. Feels very creamy.

Definitely a good beer I'll be buying again.
