Poured a brown body with decent head and lace. The aroma has bits of spice and sweet malts but mostly I get dark fruits. The beer does have a spicy and almost heated finish particular to winter warmer beers but it is mostly a thick/sticky beer that balances sweet malts (caramel/toffee) with dark fruits like figs, prunes and dates.

Bought this beer as a single. It was in a 12oz bottle, and I wanted to try a Winter Ale. This was the first one that I seen that caught my eye so I got it. The beer pours dark, it resembles the color of an acorn/chesnut. The head is very foamy and it left lots of lacing in the glass. The beer smells a little boozy and fruity. Malt also meets the nose. Overall it's a sweet smell. The beer tastes like dark chocolate, toffee, and a light splash of hops. It's a little malty in the back of the mouth. The beer is very smooth and warm going down. The beer a winter warmer. It has the remnants of light booze in the back of the throat, It's probably better as a sipper. Not bad I'd try it again.

A- amber and red highlights. half finger head with a frothy lacing on the mug.

S- dark cherries and toffee malts with hints of vanilla

F- sour cherry and toffee malts. As others say i do get the wine note feeling from this brew.

M- medium to thick bodied winter warmer that leaves a boozy taint in the mouth.

O- a good winter warmer and look forward to more. It is heavy as the further i go so its a sipper.

Poured a very dark reddish brown with a good tan head. Head died but left a film and some lacing.

Nose is very malty with lots of dark fruit, fruit cake and a boozy vinous note.

Palate is malty - dark fruit, cherries, some spice and again that fortified wine note. Light to medium bitterness at the end.

Mouth is good - quite full.

A bit boozy for its 6.7% but otherwise well balanced. Very nice beer.
