12 Oz bottle. B.B date 10/03/17

Pours a pale yellow golden hazy body with a bone white head. Lots of visible carbonation. Good retention and plenty of thin lacing.

Smell is mostly grain and grass, slightly sweet. A very small citrus hop smell way in the background too

Taste follows with the malt really leading the way. It has a very German pilsner malt sort of taste.

Thin carbonation seems right for a lager

Reminds me of a lighter German lager. Perfect beer for a hot day. Next time I and find myself craving a lager I will reach for this. I will have this one again...

I poured one and a half bottles into a half liter stein,a dull light golden with a thinner but well sustained bone white head atop.Toasted cereal grains and mild fruity hops in the nose, pretty unassuming but not bad in any way.Dry and crisp on the palate with some the cereal taste, there is a citric element that lingers.A lighter feeling easy drinking lager, much better than alot but not not anything to dissect in any way.

Pours faint hazy, yellow. Foamy, medium, white head that lasts a while with light lacing.

Smells pale malts, citrus, light grassy and lemon.

Tastes grassy and lemon, light bready malt and citrus peel. Followed by light pepper and grain hints. Finish is dry with a grassy linger. Medium body and fizzy medium carbonation.

In the past 30 years or so, I have often wondered why the craft beer movement somehow took a detour around lagers. And despite asking at various breweries, I never got an answer - the usual response being a blank stare and then more scripted talk about ales. And I love ales. But why so few truly exciting lagers? This trend seems to be petering out these days, with a number of new lagers out there. And it was with some excited expectation that I bought a bottle of Deschutes Pacific Wonderland just now. But god, what a monumental disappointment! Be warned that this is actually a Pilsner, which should have been on the label to begin with. (Thanks a lot, Deschutes.) But in any case, this is a truly bland, boring beer, with none of the crisp, delightful flavor that a good lager is all about. Actually, it's not entirely boring, since there is a rather unpleasant edge to the taste. Definitely not recommended.

A: [4.00] The bottle lists the ABV (5.5%) and there is a drink by date (07/26/2017). The beer is a cloudy straw color and is topped with 1 1/2 fingers of dense white head.

S: [3.50] Corn, corn cereal, grassiness from the hops, grape skins.

T: [3.00] There is almost a sour taste to it. Tart lemon then some corn and mild grassiness.

M: [3.50] Medium body and carbonation.

O: [3.25] I am really confused by the taste. There is a sour factor and I can't tell if it is intended or there is an issue with the beer. I am not a huge fan of the flavor so either way it detracts from this beer.

Appearance: Bright yellow gold glass shows some chill haze under a full half finger of sticky foam that leaves thick lace.

Aroma: White bread yeast with a lemon citric note.

Taste: Yeasty note on a pretty thin malt base. Hops come in slightly metallic, but mostly leafy and citric.

Mouthfeel: Frothy, high carbonation on fairly light body.

Overall: A style that doesn't get a lot of love. Comes across as a classic American beer from the 50s if Prohibition didn't happen. Beer geeks don't see enough different, and your Bud drinker just sees what is different and it's not enough to go changing. All that said, it's a well made beer, just a recipe that doesn't offer a lot.
