For starters I love Deschutes Brewery - so I was a bit biased when I purchased this. Aroma wasn't super impressive - I have a bad sense of smell so I'll chalk that up as "user error" other reviewers are talking about tropical notes, citrus yatayatayata but I didn't pick up much on the aroma. The taste (this is what counts folks but hey I do appreciate a nice hop aroma though) is great, nice and clean finish with a decent hop bite. Mouthfeel is good, carbonation is nice and smooth. The color is a bit more amber than I like and there is some caramel notes on the malt backbone but nothing too over powering. This is a great APA - definitely pick this one up if you can.

An excellent beer! Had it on draft in a pint glass. A dark Amber color with a great head and excellent lacing. Very fragrant with a sweet floral smell. The taste is nicely malty with a pleasant sweetness and a great spicy finish. Many tastes involved here: earthy, berries, cherry, cola, cinnamon, cardamom, fresh and sweet. Enjoyed it very much!

An amber colored beer with an off white head that leaves uniform spots of lacing on the glass. A nice bready yeast aroma with caramel sweetness, floral notes, pine and citrus. The taste is not as sweet as the aroma and has more citrus and noticeable bread flavors. The beer finishes quite dry with a nice pine bitterness. This is a tasty beer.

355ml bottle poured into tulip.

Pours a deep, clear honey amber with one thin finger of beige head that leaves splotchy lace as it recedes.

Smells of grapefruit rind and blood orange zest, sweet brown bread, hard water and flowery, piney hops.

Tastes of muddled bitter citrus oils, more bready malt, pine needles and more floral hops.

Feels soft and frothy. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. Finishes dry.

Verdict: Recommended. Good enough.

A 355ml bottle with a best before date of 26th December 2016, poured into a Mikkeller pint glass.

Appearance: It poured a clear copper amber colour with a two finger fluffy and foamy off white head that had decent retention and left thick-ish lacing.

Aroma: Leafy, grassy, pine with sweet pear, a hint of citrus and a light floral element.

Taste: Sweet and malty. Pine, grass and pear with hints of grapefruit, caramel and tea.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate to light carbonation.

Overall: It’s quite nice. Not getting as much of the citrus that others seem to be getting (I will try another bottle), but the sweet-ish pear, pine, tea combo works quite nicely for me.
