This is an IRA not an IPA.

Unfortunately this isn't the best IRA.

Great bready malt smell but the dank good don't compliment.

The flavor had similar issues. The astringent bitterness from the dark malts is poorly. Matched and leaves an unpleasant aftertaste

Pours translucent brown with solid head. Good amount of lacing and some of the head lingers. This looks pretty impressive, but...a burnt brown-red IPA with that much froth on top? Interesting. Smell is malty with some herbal notes. Taste is malt, herbal hops, pine hops, and a hint of fruity hops that almost disappears as the beer gets warmer, with bitter citrus rind lingering . Mouthfeel is crisp but refreshing. Overall, interesting. Different. Quite good and quaffable. EDIT: Lowering rating slightly. Bitterness grows slightly excessive as I get further through.

She pours a somewhat hazy copper and leaves the same colored body with a one finger white foamy head that dies within a minute and has some nice spider web lacing is left in the wake. The smell has some strong citrusy and piney hops with a fair amount of caramel backs up the nose. The taste is bittersweet as there is a very nice combination between the hops and the malts. It has a bitter citrus aftertaste and gets a bit malty as the beer warms. It has a semi-dry finish. The palate is light to medium and comes across fairly sessionable. Carbonation is good for the style and good to me. It has a nice bitterness that assaults the tongue and mouth like a good AIPA should. Overall, good West Coast styled AIPA worthy of more pours.

From backlog. 12 oz bottle. The aroma and flavor are almost reminiscent of barleywine. Malty in the nose, good balance between hops and malt in the taste. Good, interesting IPA.

Nice beer which reminds me of drinking a Torpedo. I prefer this beer very cold in a frozen mug.

Appearance: fairly dark golden with one finger white head that dissipates slowly leaving nice fine lacing.

Smell: I get malts, hops and some citrus.

Taste: very good bitterness and great balanced flavors.

Feel: carbonation is great. It has a 'heavy' thick feel that I don't particularly prefer. It is a smooth IPA. Citrus bite is almost perfect.

Overall: very good experience and a great total IPA package.
