12 oz. bottle, with best by date 10/16/2013. My fourth different beer from Deschutes Brewery I think, acquired from the local beer store for $8.99 a six pack. Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.

A - Pours about two fingers of fluffy khaki colored head on top of a coppery dark orange colored body. Semi-clear appearance with a few strands of bubbles rushing to the top. Head thins to nothing quickly. Thin streaky lacing.

S - Big fruity pineapple, grapefruit, and blood orange type smell. Some light floral smells. White bread & malts. Smells very similar to what both the Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA and Deschutes Red Chair NWPA smelled like.

T - Taste is not at all what I expected based on the nose. Extremely bitter hops, but not fruity and juicy hops. These hops are drier and more bitter. Light florals again, but not much. Extremely malty, and almost a coppery metallic aftertaste.

M - Feel is extremely resinous and dry with bitter piney hops.

Overall, a slightly above average IPA at best. Not really anything mindblowing, and certainly not as fruity and hoppy as other IPA's. Definitely tastes to me like a more malt forward beer. Still, it is reasonably priced, and with a modest drinkable 6.80% abv, it was worth trying at least once, but I will stick with Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA for now.

12oz. bottle poured into standard bar pint glass. Reviewing from notes.

A: Pours a nice, hazed copper color with what with a large creamy, off-white head. The large head eventually fades down to a cap after a few minutes, and leaves staggering amounts of sticky lacing all down the glass. This one is pretty!

S: An aromatic melody of floral, grassy hops alongside some really clean citrus zest. A slight touch of malt sweetness underneath, with an even slighter impression of spicy alcohol.

T: A solid hop bitterness slaps around your tastebuds, with a nice profile of freshly juiced grapefruit seeping through. More than a hint of malt sweetness balances out the initial bitterness. Finishes with a wave of warming alcohol that says, "Slow down. This isn't your little brother's beer!"

M: Has a pleasant creaminess and silky smooth feeling all around. Mild carbonation does just enough without getting in the way. It'd be more than easy to put a few of these back without realizing.

O: I wouldn't call this a big brew, but it certainly packs a bit of a punch. Lots of unadulterated hop flavor that is paired with (and not masked by) some refreshing citrus zest and underlying sweetness. Drinks smooth and satisfying. This one is definitely deserving of praise, and I might just find myself picking up a six-pack of this before the warm summer nights are over.

A- Nice light copper color with a good 1.5 finger head that stuck around for a while and laced the glass nicely.

S - Fruity, floral not overwhelming, banana smell.

T - The hops are pretty intense in this one. Floral taste

M - Hearty and hoppy. Dry finish and moderate carbonation.

O - This is a pretty darn good beer and example of the style. Will drink again.
