A: Pours a deep amber color - hints of ruby. Ample head at pour and has good retention. Good chunks of lacing present on the glass.

S: Hoppy, floral aroma.

T: Ample malting present up front turns to a more bitter flavor on the back end. Hops are more floral than anything else. Nicely balanced.

M: Silky smooth carbonation - feels good on the tongue and on the rest of the mouth.

O: Well done brew - really enjoyable.

Appearance: This is a single IPA? Looks a lot more like a double IPA or an amber to me.

Aroma: Bready, potent hops and citrus backed by honey.

Taste: Wow this beer tastes a lot bigger than 6.8% Lots of red citrus going on here. Tangerine, blood orange, red grapefruit flavor.

Mouthfeel: Silky smooth with surprising alchohol warmth for a beer of only 6.8%

Overall: Very interesting IPA from one of my go to breweries. What exactly do we have here? In a world filled with a million IPA's this one is just different enough to stand out while sticking to the basics enough to still be comfortably part of the IPA style.

Attractive dark orangey amber in the Stella Artois tall tulip. Foam lasts well with plenty of lacing. Odd and somewhat perfumey smell. Some roasted malt and a little caramel greet the lips. Some sweetness says with you, but the taste and aftertaste is all about the bitterness. I don't taste much of the usual piney notes. This is kind of a sweet dishwater.

Overall, this seems like a very standard IPA missing some hop flavors, but with an insistent bitterness. Not much for savoring a pint, but I defer to the hop fiends, and maybe freshness is everything on this one. From the 12 oz bottle bought at AJ's Fine Foods in Phoenix.
