Notes:
Introducing Fresh Haze IPA, our newest IPA is hazy with a chance of obsession. The flavor explodes in your mouth with notes of orange citrus sweetness and a soft malt body. Carrying both citrus and tropical fruit from Mandarina, Amarillo and Simcoe hops…OJ for days.

Hazy gold color, huge head with lots of lacing. Smell of oranges, mangoes. Taste follows, a citrus explosion with just enough hops to remind me that this is a beer, not orange juice. Easy drinking, overall I rather love it.

A new brewery for me. I opted for the sampler 12-pack, randomly pulled this one. Lightly fruity and grainy on the pour; an easy 2-finger light tan head with a moderate pour. Mandarina, Amarillo and Simcoe hops provide a blend of cantaloupe, orange, and jackfruit, with a light touch of sweetness. Lightly silky swallow, with a moderate grain exhale. A marvelous NEIPA that will absolutely make a repeat appearance to the beer fridge

Did not realize that I had never reviewed this beer.
19.2 oz long can purchased from Plaid Pantry for $2.50..
Poured into a British dimpled mug.
Its is of course hazy. This time the colour of apricot juice with a handsome thick and creamy had. Nice looking beer.
Aroma isn't too fruity though..mainly floral with a bit of tropical fruit.
Tate the same quite well balanced
Great mouth feel..great carbonation
Nice cheap IPA

L: This Beer has a very nice hazy appearance. It’s a little darker than the typical hazy ipa, but very gorgeous. The head is a nice light tan with rocky and varying bubble size.
S: Upon cracking the seal you’re met with a gorgeous aroma of orange and tangerine. It’s delightful to smell.
T: The taste surprised me. It is very mild and almost creamy tasting. You can definitely taste the different varieties of hops and it almost seems sweet, with a light bitter taste at the swallow, leaving no real discernible aftertaste.
F: Extremely creamy. Definitely the most juicy and thick feeling beer I’ve had yet. It almost feels like milk going down. This could be a con to some, but honestly it felt fun and exciting to me.
O: An awesome showing. Definitely something I would drink again. This beer is great if you don’t feel like committing to something harsh and will pair well with many different savory dinner options.

L-Hazy glowing yellow/gold with a nice pillowy white head.
S-Juicy...oranges, papaya, tangerines, pineapple
T-Like drinking orange juice almost. Real heavy sweeter orange juice flavor accented with subtle notes of papaya, pineapple and even a touch of coconut.
F-Soft...smooth...no hop burn....drinks like a non acidic juice.
O-Very orange forward and smooth drinking. For the style it is pretty good but one dimensional with the tropical notes being very subtle.

I’ll admit I am a little biased, I love hazy IPAs. This one is really enjoyable - highly drinkable. Good orange haze, color, and flavor, maybe a little towards the mandarin orange or tangerine side. Hoppy but balanced. Nice mouth feel (some people reviewing note a subtle cream/creme feel and finish - yeah I think that’s it!) and “weight” on the tongue, but not overly bitter nor the weird afterglow of some hazy IPAs that seems to linger on the tastebuds. Again, fun, easy, no nonsense good hazy from a west coast brewer. A go-to favorite when you need to quench your Hazy IPA thirst = I added 0.25 to my overall just because it comes together so well.

Purchased: June 22, 2020
Consumed: June 22, 2020
Misc.: Packaged on May 21, 2020 at 10:47 a.m. PT
Had Rachel pick up me some random beer at Trader Joe’s. Was surprised that I hadn’t tried this one yet, let alone review it on Beer Advocate. The Deschutes website called this, “Introducing Fresh Haze IPA, our newest IPA is hazy with a chance of obsession. The flavor explodes in your mouth with notes of orange citrus sweetness and a soft malt body. Carrying both citrus and tropical fruit from Mandarina, Amarillo and Cashmere hops…OJ for days.” Northern Brewer was also mentioned. Brewer note was, “A hazy twist on your main squeeze, this juice bomb explodes with orange citrus and a soft malt body.”
Poured a light amber hazy color with six fingers of rocky white head. Could see a few bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.50)
On the nose got sweet floral, mandarin orange, orange blossom, tangerine, Amarillo and Mandarina Bavaria. Orange citrus is right. More of the same from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose. In order got mandarin orange, orange blossom, tangerine, Amarillo, Mandarina Bavaria, lemon grass and dried apricot. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Citrusy, juicy finish. (Feel - 3.50)
Really wanted more from this. Good overall, but nothing I would need to have again. (Overall - 3.50)

Context might be spoiling my interpretation, but Fresh Squeezed is one of my favorite IPAs (living in the midwest where there are plenty). I also like to point out that while I buy OJ for my kids weekly, I drink it maybe monthly because I love how great fresh OJ tastes after a layoff. (If only I taught myself the same trick with NEIPAs!) Anyway, this beer isn't very refreshing. It has a big body, solid bitterness, and the orange is an accent. This would pair well with a lighter Scotch or bourbon. Otherwise, I'm going back to Fresh Squeezed.

Look: Murky orange with some reddish tones. Minimal white head.
Smell: Orange juice, orange rind, pineapple, canned pineapple in heavy syrup.
Taste: Orange rind and pineapple sweetness. It’s not really bitter in the sense of a regular IPA, but the bitterness is like the zest off of a fresh orange rind. The malts combine with the hops to give the impression of canned pineapple in syrup. The sweetness is not “cloying” and really makes this a really drinkable beer.
Mouthfeel: Despite the sweetness, this has a semi dry finish.

Unfortunately, from a three month old can.
Pours clear, until the end when what looks like the yeast dregs come out. Mixed together it is slightly hazy, just not so fresh. Light aroma, some juicy orange notes and a bit of a minerality characteristic on the finish.
It might not be fair to rate such an old can, but that's the best option I had at the time.

Pours murky, golden-orange.
Plenty of bubbles, thundering willowy.
Piney citrus scent, IPA traditional on the nose.
Crisp & malty.
Not unlike a West Coast IPA, yet with a
blunt gravity
with a faint, watery echo of
orange-lemon sharpness
after the
haze crush.
The faintness gives way to a brief, vigorous throat-burn.
Mellow ride.
Bland enchantment.

Canned on 04/13/20. Part of a lovely little care package. Been wanting to try this but the cans I’ve been finding have been pretty old, so it’s nice to receive this from the PNW. Not much different from Fresh Squeezed, because that was already delicious. This is a bit creamier, a tad sweeter, and obviously unfiltered.

From a 12oz can dated 4/9/20 into a pint glass.
Pours an opaque brownish orange with about one finger of thick white head. Some small off-white particulates can be seen suspended in the brew. Good retention and lacing.
Smells mainly of oranges with some tangerines. Some pineapple and grapefruit in the background. Also picking up a touch of a bitter aroma.
Taste is mildly juicy but also fairly bitter. Citrus fruits (orange, grapefruit, a bit of lemon) dominate with a bitter hop taste largely present as well.
Mouthfeel is fairly soft and juicy. Balance seems a little off as if the juicy and hop flavors are two separate things and fighting against each other. Low carbonation. Bitter aftertaste.
Overall...This was a gift for my birthday. It's not bad, but I would pick Fresh Squeezed over this every time.

I must say, after that CANned Chicha, The CANQuest (tm) is ready for a beer! I really need something to scratch a rapidly-developing hops itch. Hopefully, this will do the trick!
From the CAN: "Fresh Haze India Pale Ale"; "Family & Employee Owned since 1988"; "CAN Conditioned for Quality - Live yeast added to the can allows this beer to age gracefully and stay fresher, longer."; "Profile - A hazy twist on your main squeeze, this juice bomb explodes with notes of orange citrus sweetness and a soft malt body."; "IBUs[:] 45".
Given all of the verbiage above, I decided that I would go with a slow, steady C-Line Glug following the Crack! of the vent. I still wound up with nearly two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with very good retention. Color was a hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7), which was fine by me for the initial Glug. I CAN always pour the lees later. Nose was redolent with oranges - peel, zest, fruit, all of it! It smelled really bright & pleasant. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but on the approach. I really liked the citrusy orange taste of this one! It was not at all sweet, either, with the citrusy tang of oranges. It seems amazing that this was all hops-driven with no added fruit in the recipe. Finish was dry, not so much bitter as tangy, but a pleasurable drink all the same. I feel like I drank this prematurely - it would be perfect on a hot, humid Summer's day! YMMV.

"No fruit was harmed in making this beer". 45 IBU's, 6.5% alc. Very cloudy. A perfect example of the style. Beautiful appearance and aroma. I can taste this beer gets it's flavor profile from hops instead of adding flavorings (which I hate). If you are into the NEIPA thing you need to try this beer. Not a "hop heads" brew. It also compliments their Fresh Squeezed beer so I advise picking up a six of both doing a compare.

Fairly hazy, and it's the color of apricot nectar. Even the foam seems a little tinted. Long-lasting suds in the wine glass. It's all fruit, all the time. Big apricot aroma with a nose of orange peel. Some citrus peel bitterness but mostly tangy juice. Tangerine aftertaste.
Very drinkable with the usual bit of gunk in the finish. But it's pretty much the user-friendly version of the haze craze. Experience the madness with a firm grip on reality. From the 12 oz can purchased at the supermarket.

19.2 Oz can. Canned 12/16/2019
Pours a hazy orange body with a white head that dissipated fairly quickly. A couple of thin layers of lacing.
Hop forward with big citrus notes at first pour. I'm getting an orange soda (Fanta) scent. Can't quite place the hop varieties. Maybe Amarilla ?
Taste follows with lots of orange with a little mango. There is a sweet malt that wasn't evident in the scent.
Medium thin feel. Appropriate for the style.
Would have this one again... The sweet malt backbone on the taste was interesting enough to require more research !
