Fresh HazeFresh Haze
Notes: Introducing Fresh Haze IPA, our newest IPA is hazy with a chance of obsession. The flavor explodes in your mouth with notes of orange citrus sweetness and a soft malt body. Carrying both citrus and tropical fruit from Mandarina, Amarillo and Simcoe hops…OJ for days.

Pours the same colour as Sunny D with a small offwhite head on top. Citrus and hops on the smell. I get orange, tangerine and pineapple on the taste. A very nice NEIPA

This one caught me off guard. I’ve always known Deschutes brought high quality drinks to the table, but I have never tried one of their IPAs until now.

The initial tropical citrus leaves in bold scent and flavor without being too much, then followed by a smooth malty haze that just really tops everything off nicely. Fantastic beer overall.

12/7/22 Canned 9/21/22. Could be the most easy drinking beer I’ve had in a long time. Cold, hazy, moderate ABV, orange forward, no bitterness, somewhat sweet. But lacking in character & taste. Tropicana in a can. Could reach for one on a hot summer day but otherwise - pass.

Pours cloudy bronze with a foamy, long lasting head. Lemon, mango, apricot hops in the nose, with some herbal and caramel notes. The taste is hop forward with orange, lemon, grapefruit, mango, floral hop notes and a ballast of cookie dough malts and a noticeable graininess. Light body with sparse carbonation. Medium bitterness and some grainy malts in the finish.

A nice balanced New England IPA. On the maltier side with more restrained hops.

Tallboy from the LCBO; dated Aug 17 2022 and served slightly chilled.

Pours hazy and translucent, its golden orange-hued body capped with nearly two fingers of foamy white head. It dissipates over the course of the next five minutes or so, leaving behind a band of sticky lace as it recedes; a thin, creamy collar and sudsy cap also survive. Tangerine and orange peel on the nose, with hints of pink grapefruit, meyer lemon, wheaty grain and maybe a touch of mango. I wouldn't describe it as complex, but I am a sucker for citrusy aromas.

A pretty solid & fairly juicy IPA that leans heavy on citrus and tropical fruit. Mango and passion fruit at the forefront, followed by tangerine, apricot and nectarine. The earthy, piney bitterness of Simcoe starts to come through on the back end, but tangerine, lemon pith and stone fruit also last to the finish; mango and citrus continue into the aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with moderately lively carbonation that adds some bite to this brew's smooth, fluffy-soft mouthfeel. Great drinkability, with very little sign of the 6.5%.

Final Grade: 3.96, a B+. Fresh Haze is good stuff, well worth any beer geek's time and money - perhaps a little more bitter than your average NEIPA, but I don't think that'll be a major problem for most hopheads. This is not a mind-blowing beer, but it is still a respectable, worthwhile IPA in its own right. Not as highly acclaimed as Deschutes' Freshly Squeezed, but personally I liked this one a teensy bit more. Try this as fresh as possible: I'd encourage other Ontario BAs to hit up the LCBO ASAP, because three months is about as fresh as PNW beer gets around here.

Pours a hazy orange color with a sudsy white foam-head. Great retention, sticky lacing.

Aroma: Clementine orange and pine, bready with a slight maltyness.

Taste: Mellow. Mango and orange up front, some pineapple and fruit juice and candy in the middle… Maybe lemon. Very minimal bitterness. A clean and dry finish.

Overall: This is definitely a juicy IPA. A little on the mellow side, but decent none-the-less.

19.2 oz can from Albertsons. All aboard the hazy train. Orange golden body with small fizzy head. Mild citrusy aroma, taste is a bit stronger, but not outstanding. Light citrus and a bitter sting. Ho hum.

The aroma is amazing. Deep candied orange peel and caramel. The flavor leaves a little more to be desired in comparison, but compliments the nose very well.

This is a 12oz. can dumped into the Deschutes pint glass. Perfect fill, with a thick finger of an off white head. The head has nice retention, it is very thick and a bit lumpy. The brew is hazy, of course, a light orange with little floaters. As the head recedes there is some thick lacing left behind..
The aroma is orange also and a little pine tree also. Sweet and fresh!
The flavor is sweet citrus, quickly the hops jump in with a light bitter bite helping this brew to not become too sweet.
The feel is surprisingly smooth.
This is very refreshing after a warm, humid Midwest day. The sweetness and the hops blend nicely.

Pours a hazy orangeish color decent eggshell colored head that fades to a ring leaving a nicely laced glass. Snot factory says citrus as do the "buds". Finishes a bit sweet. Creamy texture, nice carbonation. From a Descutes IPA variety pack.

Picked up a 6er from the grocery store, Winter 21-22.

Pours a brighter side of orange territory. Looks like I had this during the Georgia/Alabama National Championship football game. 3/4" spacious bubbled white head. The aroma is oranges. The damn can is orange. This is the orangeiest beer since that dumb oranges are orange beer. This is better than that one. Suspect Mandarina doing the heavy lifting in terms of both aroma and taste.

Taste brings the orange again. Its not full on sweetness, there is a definite upside of the Simcoe hop being here, helps hazy ipas come off more as beer than juice, its in the right proportion here. The malt body is much lighter than the appearance would suggest. Still kind of impressed this doesn't use Citra hops. Its a sawft mouth feel, but not trubby, watery kind of sawft.

I thought this was a good deal at around $8/6 pack. Convenient too, I was grocery shopping.

Canned 1/24, consumed 2/28/22 from a tulip glass. Pours opaque orange with no visible suspended or entrained solids. 2+ finger of sudsy white foam with pretty good retention and some moderate amount of lacing. Not getting a lot of smell; certainly nothing to elicit a "wow". Taste is citrus rind plus some fleeting creamsicle orange, some malt in the background, a little hop bitterness. Medium body. Overall a passable mass-produced hazy but nothing I would seek out again. The "look" was the star here. My 3.75 overall is probably on the generous side.

Yep, it's another juicy hazy IPA... this one's pretty fruity and tastes quite a bit like a beermosa does. Hard to distinguish it from the million other hazy IPAs out there but it's good. Not bitter, but not as sweet as a glass of orange juice would be. The hops they chose make that work. Looks like my score is just about where the consensus is for this one, so I think I'm on point with my review.

Can. White head with some lace. Hazy orange gold color.

Smooth and easy drinking. Simple hazy, but nice. Orange, mango, passionfruit. Soft. Earthy hops. Light bitterness.
