A whole lot of wine shines here even though on 35% of it sits in pinot noir barrels. Not enough cherry as expected. Beautiful deep red and brown with a very light cream color head. A bit heavy in the nought and lingers forever in the back. Very good but was hoping for something more from the barrel and the cherries.

2012 reserve.

Great beer, personally my favorite point is with 2 years age on it. Really allows the fresh cherries to meld in and add some nice depth to the flavor but thy are definitely still there. I get a great sherry flavor too going with the age.

If you like the more fruity element drink fresh. If you don't mind losing a little fresh fruit to get some more flavors and rounded out beer go for 2 years. I had the 2010 reserve when buying the 2014 and thought it had fallen off considerably.

In review, a 2010 vintage.

A - Pours and amber red color with a light white covering and soapy white lacing ring.

S - Cherry tartness with light to moderate funk.

T - Tart bitter cherries from start to finish with some light caramel malt base mixed in, mild tart bitter finish, oak.

M - Medium to heavy medium body, light pricklies on the tongue, the tartness makes the tongue water on the side with a dry finish on top. Ends with tart/sour cherry coating and lingering bitterness.

O - Aged nicely.
