Poured from 22 oz bottle. Best after date Oct. 2015.

A: Thin translucent rusty brown.

S: Cherry oak. Really subtle.

T: Not sour initally. Good tannin profile on the pinot front. Oaky. Gets sour as it warms but the cherry oak profile blends nicely. Something you could crush with high abv. Very little alcohol presence.

M: Just incredible all around but again age will help in this aspect to smoothen things out. My favorite aspect of this one. The blending of oak, light tobacco, and deep ruby cherry. Good tannin quality almost not a sour.

O: This is my favorite Descutes beer and consistent at that. I can see gains with age but it's not hot now like a fresh abyss. Way better than abyss and not carrying that hype. Its a great take on a flanders oude bruin

Light acetic acid forms the initial aroma, with vinous notes, oak, and a touch of funk adding complexity. The cherry is subtle in comparison.

Slightly phenolic flavor. Wish it were more sour.

Really enjoyable interesting beer. Not overly sour and alot going on with aroma and on the palate. Drinks just about as easy as the lower ABV brothers of this style. I'll drink this over Abyss any day. A great beer from Deschutes!

2014. Maybe it needs some age. No real tartness for me on this. Cherries come through nice as does the wine barrel. Just not my style at this point
