5/12/18: 16 ounce draft pour into a pint glass at Finley Dunnes $7. Hazy blond pour, thin white lacing. Light citrus aroma. Pine hop bitter, not much balance with the citrus and fruit. Medium thin mouth feel, light carbonation, bitter finish. Overall OK offering.

Bottle poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours slightly hazy golden orange amber with a frothy beige head that settles to a firm layer that hangs around and leaves some very nice lacing.

S: Piney, herbal, citrus, a little tropical fruit, toasty bready malt, and caramel sweetness.

T: Spicy pine, peppery herbal notes, citrus, orange, lemon, and grapefruit, some tropical fruit hiding in there, passion fruit, mango, peach, and lychee, toasty biscuity bready malt, and caramel sweetness.

M: On the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Classic west coast with a tropical twist. Tasty.

Look: It pours orange and has a definitive cloudiness to it. The head is slightly off white and has good head retention.

Smell: There are strong aromas of floral and citrus. There are other interesting notes of bread and a wee bit of tropical elements.

Taste: There are strong citrus, floral, and stone fruit elements. The citrus elements almost tastes as if it was fresh squeeze. There are also grapefruit notes and bready notes in the finish.

Feel: It has a moderate body on the full size with a strong bitter finish that is not harsh, but pleasant.

Overall, a very intriguing combination of flavor elements with a top notch finish.

American IIPA poured from a bottle into a New Belgium tulip. Very hazy and burnt orange in color with a thin head and average retention. The nose is a mix of over-ripe tropical fruits along with cedar, pine, and hemp.

Medium body with a firm feel. Lots of hoppy flavors, but well-balanced by a firm malt backbone. Up front I get quick hits of orange peel, marmalade, and lemon rind. A little cedar comes in at mid-palate and it doesn't go well with the tropical fruit. Hops maintain their intensity across the palate and result in a nice, oily finish with sustained bitterness lingering behind.

Something for those who like punishingly hoppy beers, even if they don't taste all that great (you know who you are). Not that this one is extremely punishing, but it's well above average.

Picked up a chilled six pack while on Oahu. Best By date a couple months from now so should be in good shape. Deschutes doesn’t make it to MA so I look forward to their beer when I’m traveling west, especially their classic NW profiles.

Copper orange hue with limited clarity; hazy, dare I say it. Moderate head that fades quickly.

Aroma of guava, orange, passionfruit and stone fruit. Barely any pine. Light toasted malt buried beneath. Pungent; damp fauna.

Taste is heavy on the tropical fruit - stone and passionfruit, guava and lychee. Fruit-forward and saturated.

Slightly sticky and the overripe fruit sticks around on your palate. No alcohol present but the beer feels thick and chewy.

Pours a hazy copper orange color small white head not much lace.

Aroma is nice old fashioned wet coat style, with some fruity hips thrown in too.

Taste is like the nose, big west coast hops along with tropical fruit notes riding on a bready malt base. Finish lingering citrus bite along with some pine resin that lingers.

Mouhfeel is pretty big medium lightly peppy carbonation.

Overall pretty solid big IPA, would have again.
