Very well done. Earthy and musty with hop and pine. Yum.

Pours a gorgeous clear golden-copper. 1 finger of sticky persistent creamy off white head.

Aroma is faint, mostly grassy with a touch of citrus peel, a little bread

Flavor is nicely balanced, some orange peel like bitterness, sweet toffee, bread. Pine, lemon and juniper hiding in the back end.

Body is full and creamy, with good carbonation

Overall just a wonderful big IPA, complex and complementary hop flavors, good balance, fantastic body and head retention. Aroma strikes me as uninteresting, which is the only thing at all negative I have to say about this one.

Complex "experimental" IPA. Pours cloudy amber. Soft hops and honey on the nose. Mandarins Bavaria and Experimental hops in this release. Smooth and thick to taste. Hints of honey and oranges linger on the palette. Very memorable and unlike anything previously tasted from this Bend powerhouse. Bottled from grocer in King of Prussia.

I found a bomber of this at my local Stein's Liquor in Rhinelander. The freshness stamp states that this one is still good for another two months. Poured right from the refrigerator into my nonic pint glass.

L: Pours a deep orange blossom honey color with about an inch-and-a-half of off-white head that stays for a while, dissipates to a healthy film, and leaves considerable lacing on the glass. Slightly hazy, with minimal visible carbonation after the initial pour.

S: This one has a definite dank/pot-like quality to the nose. Some pineapple and mango fruit notes. There's definite earthiness/wet horse blanket/gym shoe funk in the mix. It's quite assertive and much better than the prior description makes it out to be.

T: Bread-like and caramel malts are present at the start--sourdough and cracker notes predominantly. There's some rich tropical fruit that follows, with mango and pineapple the most assertive. This IPA brings the sweetness. There's some definite floral/herbal/pot-like hop notes that build through the middle and back end--this one could certainly be characterized as funky/dank in that regard. The fruit and the floral hop notes really meld quite seamlessly with the malt profile. There's a bit of clear alcohol that emerges toward the back, but it's concealed quite well. The close is marked by citrus rind/pine hop bitterness, but there is still considerable lingering sweetness from the malts.

F: This is on the lighter side of medium-bodied. It has a bit less stick than I was expecting from an IPA of its ABV. There's some nice creaminess, though toward the end it started to feel a bit too watery. It brings the bitter without completely coating the palate with it. Quite pleasant feel.

O: This is a very flavorful IPA that has some great depth and complexity. The nose implies a very dank/funky flavor, but there's a ton of straightforward fruit to complement the more herbal notes. I was almost put off by how sweet this one is, but the hops do balance things out nicely in the end. If you like your IPAs more fruit-forward than bitter, be sure to check this one out.

Tastes like something Sam Adams would put out. Good enough to drink but not buy again.
