est after 9/1/14. Weird. Tart, acedic acid, vinegar, malt, toffee, Cherry skins and oak. A bit earthy. A little bit sour. Slight burn in the back of my throat. Was expecting this to be undrinkable but it's OK.

It hurts to drink this beer, violent acidity and what would otherwise be a solid sour base but the off flavors and aromas are so plentiful you could call this complex. Sulfur, acetic acid, Balsamic vinegar, leather, bandaid, nail polish remover, diacetyl, woody tannins. Underlaying red berry, sherry, fig and maybe some toffee.

Shared with JLindros. Best after 9/1/14.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip dark clear brown, thin off white head that fades to leave light wisps.

S - Aromas of huge acetone notes, vinegar, buttery oak. Nostril burning acidic.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, unpleasantly acidic, battery acid, light wine barrels, loads of vinegar, buttery barrel, ugh.

M - Mouthfeel was aggressively carbonated, sharp.

O - Overall this is a really unpleasant beer. Really abrasive.

Thanks to rudzud

Light fizzy foamy head, nice lacing, semi clear mahogany color.

Nose huge sour funk, weird lacto creamy sour milk, acetone, weird syrupy fruity mess, sour candy fruit, buttery oak but seems like diacetyl, dark berry, pretty of malt vinegar.

Taste brings more of the same, but starts with toasted brown malts, sweet candy malt, some caramel like notes, then big sour funk, some booze notes and big acidity, malt vinegar and sour dark fruit, a syrupy dark fruit mess, fig Newton loaded with acidity, lactic acid acetic acid.

Mouth is med syrupy bod with tons of acidity a little booze, light carb.

Overall a huge mess.

22oz bottle into tulip. Best after date 9/1/14.

A: Pours a deep mahogany with a finger of light than head that fizzed away into a fuzzy collar. A few wisps of lace were left down the glass.
S: Sharp and vinegary nose similar to a Flanders red. I get notes of acetic acid, green apple, and tart red berries, with undertones of caramel. Hints of band-aid and nail polish come through as well.
T: Vinegar dominates the flavor upfront alongside notes of leather, caramel, and buttery oak. There is a touch of vanilla and chocolate near the finish, and the aftertaste is sweet and actually quite smooth. I get notes of tannic plum skins and a kiss of sweet fruit juice as well.
M: Sharp, biting acidity up front, tingly and quick carbonation, medium-full body, lightly greasy mouthfeel. The finish is drying and has a touch of gritty tannins.
O: The blast of acid upfront is tough to get past, but the rest of the beer is much more palatable. This beer is rough around the edges but not a complete mess. Like a Flanders red mixed with barleywine.

Bottle share from Rich. The sour fans hated this, but those of us who didn't like sours were a bit more forgiving. Initial aroma was nose hair singing, and taste sharp, but once it settled on the palate was warm and enjoyable. Big shock up front, subtle pleasure awaits.
