12oz can. Bottom date stamp is 'PKG ON 01/04/24'.
Clear, deep gold colored body. One finger of egg shell white head. Small walls and irregular spots of lacing.
Aroma of orange citrus hop and sweet toasted malt.
Taste is citrus pith and toasted malt sweetness. Pine resin bitterness and orange hop balance, which extends into the aftertaste.
Medium mouthfeel. Some mouth buzz. Very good carbonation.
Totally smooth pale ale that delivers on the balance of citrus hops and sweet toasted malts.

Pours a gorgeous clear red copper with a thick off-white head that basically refuses to yield. Layers of lacing. Aroma is citrus, roasted malt and a hint of pine. Flavor follows the nose. Feel is light and well carbonated. Overall, an incredible beer.

Clear amber brew with pillowy head, and Great retention and good lacing.
Floral earthy notes.
Good hop bitterness level, not very malty for a 4.5 mo old ipa, but the added live yeast plays a part. Still get citrus notes.

Fantastic appearance— nice pillowy head and amber body. Smell is bright and sweet with a few citrus and grass notes. Taste follows— sweet citrus fruits, hints of pine and grass, backed by caramel malt and a bit more citrus on the finish. Feel is creamy and smooth. Easy drinking and well balanced, the sort of pale I’d recommend to someone new to the craft scene.

Dark amber with light tan head. Aroma has lychee, orange, grapefruit, peach, light resin, pine, and malt. Flavor is kind of earthy and piney with a little of the fruit. Fairly bitter with medium mouth feel.

12 oz bottle, bottled 12/21/20 so about a week past the 4 month "Freshest" date. But was refrigerated at the store and since I brought home a couple weeks ago.
Slightly cloudy dark copper color. Cream colored head, decent head retention and lacing. Citrus and piney hop aroma with mild caramel malt. Similar flavor, medium bitterness, a little hop oxodation in the finish. Sticky-ish mouthfeel

Good Pale Ale!!! I picked up a bottle at Total Wine in Chesapeake VA. Their stock is not always that fresh and this beer was at the outer edge of "Freshest Within 4 Months" as was stated on the bottle. Pours an almost clear copper color (You can see the outline of your finger on the far side of the pint glass). Medium size foamy white head with good retention and thick rings of foamy lacing. A good-looking beer. Aroma and taste feature sweet malt with hoppiness taking a definite back seat. There are elements of Red/Amber Ale here as well as an APA. The hop component is primarily piney hops and there is some bitterness. Mouthfeel is rich, smooth and somewhat sweet with an adequate amount of bitterness in the finish. The bitterness is more prominent in the finish. Deschutes makes some very good beers and this is one of them.

Exceptional pale ale coming out of bend here! It’s in my option the best pale ale I’ve ever drank on. It’s velvety smooth and scrumptious. Always get this when I see it at the beer store!
