look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Appearance: Amber/Red Amber color with golden edges, and the slightest bit of haze. Beautiful lacing down the glass.

Aroma: Bready, like rising dough. Floral hop.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Tingly and crisp mouthfeel, with a floral hop flavor on the tongue. Sweet, bready malts are very present on the tongue, with the gentle, floral hop filling up the nose. Finishes with a full, bready/nutty malt flavor that balances out the more prominent hop flavor. This really feels like Deschutes’ Mirror Pond’s big brother, as the balance and profile is very similar, with the difference being a slightly stronger, more floral hop character through the nose and on the finish. The hop character never overwhelms the malt flavor, but is more present for those that want a slightly more crisp/hop-centric beer.

Final Word: Another highly recommended beer from Deschutes Brewery! This beer is for those of you that tried Mirror Pond but thought it too malty, not challenging/potent enough, or simply that you prefer a stronger hop character over a maltier one. This beer is never too hoppy though, and isn’t for hop-heads, as it is still superbly balanced and rich.
