Poured from a 12 oz. brown bottle with the date code 3/12/14 clearly visible into a pint glass and got 1 1/2 fingers of head.

A: Pours a dark amber color with 1 1/2 fingers of head that dissipates slowly and leave more than just a covering of head on the top of the glass to the end. Lots of beautiful lacing from top to bottom of the glass.

S: Some bread and sweetness up front followed by the citrus smell of hops.

T: Nice and balanced with malt upfront followed by citrus hops. It ends with a dry bitterness.

M: Tastes good and goes down easy.

O: I really like this beer and I really like Deschutes Brewery. This is another great beer that they brew. I recommend it highly.

Pours a rusty amber, with nice 2-finger head of off-white foam. Thick wall of lace.

Nose is toasty malty, with a definite tone of crisp citrus sharing the limelight. Nice balance already!

Taste is sharp citrus hops, but it's well-balanced against a toasty malt backdrop.

A superb pale ale, with wonderful drinkability and an ideal session ale!

A pale ale taken just short of an IPA with a wonderful piney, resinous aroma and taste with a full-bodied malt backbone. One of my favorite all-time beers.

From the brewer: About Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale
The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, it's an insider's ride to fresh thrills.
