Appearance: Pours a beautiful red/amber with a thick off white head.
Smell: Floral hops balanced by the sweet, bready malt backbone. A great nose.
Taste: Tons of sweet fruity flavor to this one balanced by floral and slightly citrusy hops. I get flavors of orange peel, apples, pears, and kiwis. One of my favorite tasting pale ales because it wasn't quite what I normally expect the flavor profile to be.
Feel: Creamy smooth, slightly dry finish. Perfect level of carbonation.
Overall: My favorite pale ale and a great, balanced example of the style.

A: Pours a relatively clear medium copper-ish amber in color with significant amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and some faint golden apricot + brown highlights. The beer has a half finger tall foamy beige head that reduces to a mottled thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit pith and herbal hops over the top of lighter aromas of caramel malts.

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of slightly sweet caramel and grainy malts. That is followed by moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/grapefruit, and herbal hops. Light amounts of bitterness that linger slightly are present.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp and clean.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and even though the ABV is a little higher than I would normally recommend, this feels like a sessionable brew in my opinion. Nice flavors that have some aspects of an amber but more of a pale ale. Very enjoyable.

A--Gorgeous beer. Light amber/copper in color. Medium foamy head, slight lacing left in the glass.

S--Absolutely wonderful. Citrus hops are up first, followed by a hint of pine and then the malt.

T--Very bright and crisp. As with the nose, the citrus hops stand out well, with a nice malt taste to follow. A great aftertaste that leaves just a hint of dry bitterness.

M--Just what I was expecting from the style. Medium body and very easy to drink. Perfect amount of carbonation for me and extremely refreshing.

O--Definitely one of the best Pale Ales that I've had, right up there with Sierra Nevada, which as far as I'm concerned is the holy grail of Pale Ales. This has slightly less hops to me and slightly more malts. Great beer all around and there will be plenty of it in my future.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. 6.2 ABV. Best by June 11, 2014.
