12 oz bottle, tulip

A – Deep amber and touches of medium copper. Some bubbly effervescence. Beer is hazy, appears to be unfiltered at least partially. About a half-inch of off-white foam, with a bit of a peach tint, moderate retention.

S – Very malty, with baked biscuits and deep toffee aromas. Hops are woodsy, citrus mostly featuring lime, and guava and perhaps passion fruit. No bitterness on the nose.

T – Lemon-lime citrus hops, woodsy and resiny, strong enough to lead. Malts here are also golden biscuit with hints of deep toffee flavor, a strong backbone. Bitterness is present but complementary, not prominent.

M – Carbonation is moderate, body is full due to a lack of filtering. A bit of a resiny component. Residual sweetness is present but low, as is bitterness.

O – Not the hop bomb I was expecting. Instead, a very balanced, flavorful, easy-drinking, accessible hop-forward IPA. Very good.

Amongst my favorite IPAs when fresh and on draft. I've been a bit underwhelmed by the bottled offering, but that's only in comparison to the excellent draft version. My rating may be inflated due to sheer happiness the first time I drank this, but it really is an excellent use of these juicy new hops.

High citrus and low malt flavor. It has an almost acidic quality.

Got a single 12 ounce bottle of this brew at my local establishment Civera's Deli in Drexel Hill. Let's see how this matches up.

Look: pours a clears, clean, yellowish-orange pour that leaves behind a nice 1 1/2 Inch of foamy white-froth that is just irresistible. Carbonation bubbles are perfectly balanced and leaves behind an impressive lacing that lasts the whole way down.

Smell: the smells and aroma of this brew certainly screams west coast hops. A impressive floral arrangement of citrus hops. Gives off a tangy grapefruit aroma that's a little bready and malty. Not bad and good, balanced brew.

Taste: the first sips reveal a great mash of citrus, lemon-like flavor with a touch of orange. Only very slight earthy tones and mild hop bitterness that is rounded out by what I detect is a bready-like malt. Not bad.

Mouthfeel: above average carbonation. Finishes quite clean and only slight hop bitterness like I mentioned before. Quite refreshing.

Overall: going into this brew I had somewhat high hopes and they were met, with a little beyond. West coast IPAs seem to be my go-to lately and it all seems to go well together. Explosion of hops, undertones of bready malts all come together makes this an enjoyable session beer. I would try again and would recommend to a friend. Cheers!

A-The color is much different than your typical IPA as it features a deep, rich copper tint

S-An onslaught of citrus, orange, grapefruit notes that is not too sweet and a profile that embodies so many subtleties. While it also features a fine malt balance, the hop character does not overpower the taste experience and become overly intense or bitter.

M-Moderately carbonated and somewhat tart.

O-One of the best IPAs I have sampled to date and certainly an even tempered IPA with floral and citrus character that's exceptionally pleasing.
