Well, every rose has its thorn they say… Deschutes is no different and here's the weak (weakest) link I've found in their generally incredible beer assortment. Not bad by any mean but just not as balanced as I'm used to with this brewery. It's not about the bitterness (I am a huge fan of IPAs) neither about the belgian thing (I love belgian triples too) but I feel like drinking two beers in each sip here. They're both good, but they're just not part of the same beer… I guess this is still a very decent score though...

On tap at the Local Taphouse I believe, not sure when. Reviewed from notes.

Pours a pale straw colour with a bit of cloud. Head is white, a thin rim of lace around the edge. Looks alright.

Smells piney, slightly rubbery. Yeah, fair Belgian notes with orange peel, spice and sprucey notes. Nice freshness. Pleasant.

Taste is bit more Belgian I'd say. Fair orange peel with some dry spice notes. White pepper, coriander, some light rubber. Touch of pine resin. Not much IPA but pleasant enough.

A bit of fizz, quite drying on the back. Not bad.

Nice enough drop, could use bigger hop notes.

This almost pours like a Radler with a lemon juice like color and a frothy white head. Lots of small bubbles course throughout and some stick to the glass.

The aroma is floral with rose petal, perfumes, honey suckle and banana. Almost like a Hefeweizen this has a clove spiciness with a liquid soap type aroma.

The taste has a wheat and grain taste and dryness but is overwhelmed by the floral hop and yeast flavors. Rose petal and perfume, clove and yeast, soapy and phenolic this is not my favorite.

The feel is a touch dry at first but then has a resiny slickness. It also has a carbonated harshness.

I'm guessing this is quite frankly not my cup of tea. It seems to be well received but not by my palate.
