Notes / Commercial Description:
Like fresh powder, it’s a seize-the-moment thing. This year we've chased down Virgil Gamache Farms' famed Amarillo hops. At harvest, we rush the hops from the vine to our kettles to ensure we capture the purest, juiciest essence of the hop flower in every beer. Enjoy the bright, bold aroma and flavor that comes but once a year.

Very little malt character, and with that you get a fresh juicy citrus bomb from the fresh hop. A great bitter taste. Outside of the big fruit forward flavor, you get a nice pine taste to bring down the sweetness.

As one of the hottest hops on the beer market, the "Mosiac" hops have won over hop heads with its strong tropical presence to bring a soft perfume, a juicy taste and smooth bitterness to the IPA style. And how can the hop be celebrated any better than with a "harvest ale" that employs the hops in their fresh-picked state. Only the fall season can provide such taste for a brewery that's an anchor to the Mosaic region.

Its beautiful golden hues are held captive to a mild prism haze to cast a glow to the eye and to stream a parade of carbonation that fuels a cottony-white head that holds the aromatic secrets within. With the pop of each bubble, the nose is full of tropical aromatics starting with apricot, mango and passionfruit. Once the taste ensues, its candied honey and thin caramels seem like fructose while pink grapefruit, tangerine and light lemon round out the early impressions.

Juicy with vibrant and ripe citrus and tropical tastes, the middle palate blossoms with flavor. Peps of fresh-cut grass, citrus leaf, tangy gooseberry and lime play out as the sweet malt backdrop begins to break apart and retreat into a drying depth.

Its finish comes quick as the taste takes a nosedive toward fleeting sweetness and increased dryness. While its bitterness grows, it takes such smoothness and roundness that the gripping bite that's expected of IPA is quite soft and seemingly tepid. Yet, its seductive hop aromas and flavors more than makes up for its assertive closing bite.

This is a great example of what an AIPA can be.

It is the typical yellow, but with a nice fizz. The aroma is a unique hops aroma, not like most.

The taste is dry, hoppy and bitter, yet light and refreshing. The aftertaste is pretty bitter.

Overall this was a nice bomber and a great value. I'd like to see this in 12 oz bottles.
