375 mL bottle. Pours a deep, kinda murky red. Has a collar with big discrete bubbles. Smells of sour cherries, a little bit of vinegar, and some oak. Tastes really sour. Vinegar. Some lemon. Sour cherry. Intense, deep sour finish. Medium body with low carbonation. Too sour, but it’s got a pretty good flavor.

Look:Bright ruby red, almost purple. No head what so ever detracts from the appearance.
Smell:Cherries, cheese, pungent and sour.
Taste:Extremely tart and obviously cherries. I don't pick up much else, not very complex for a lambic but delicious.
Feel:Not much to report here.
Overall:Great sour beer, Hanssens is underated just not very complex.

Bottled Jan. 2015. Poured into wine glass.
l - Deep purple, murky, no head, pratically still.
s - sour, funk, vinegar and cherry.
t - super acidic, vinegary, cherry pie. In my mind way too vinegary for a lambic, tastes more like a flanders red. I've had Hanssens Gueuze and it seemed spot on so I'm not sure what's going on here.
f - nice and crisp bite with medium body.
o - really shocked at how much like salad dressing this tastes. Not bad tasting to me, but not what I'd expect for the stlye.

375 ml corked and caged bottle, 2015 vintage. Served in a Prairie Artisan Ales lambic glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy reddish color with not quite an inch light pink head that fizzled away kinda quickly. Not much lacing at all. The brew smells like tart and sweet cherries, oak, and some funkiness. Taste is similar to the aroma, with tart cherry, oak, sweet cherry, funk, vinegar and lemon flavors all noticeable. It's pretty tart, more than I expected since I thought the aroma had a good amount of sweetness. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's easy to drink and has a low amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, I enjoyed the tart fruity flavors. Definitely worth picking up!

Deep red in color, somewhat similar to a red wine. Cherries, funk, and oak on the nose. Tastes like drinking a glass of sour cherries. Absolutely delicious.

From the same corked bottle as @somethingclever below me.

It is a deep, crimson red color. The carbonation was fairly low. A hard second pour provided a little bit more fizzy head.

It smells and tastes like very sour cherry and apple cider vinegar. There is a lot of nice oak flavor, but it is a bit too sour for me.

The body was fine outside of being a little flat. Not sure if there was a carbonation issue or it's supposed to be that way, but it feels and tastes like it was left opened in the fridge for a day

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured into a can glass

A: deep rich red incolor with absolutely no head body is opaque.

S: Lots of sour cherry, vinegar, oak, green apple, this beer smells like it is going to be sour.

T: Lots of tannen sour sour cherry, vinegar, lots of oak wood in the taste

M: Beer tasted flat absolutely no carbonation, for being a lighter ABV beer the way the sourness coats the tongue it drinks bigger.

O: It was a little too sour for me without bring enough flavor. If you like super sour beers this one would be up your alley.

12.7 oz. glass poured into tulip

L: mostly clear dark red with pink head of foam that just covers the top surface; clears up over time; keeps a tight pink collar of foam; almost no sticking or lacing

S: vinous and tart, fingernail polish, tart cherries in background; as it warms, the cherries add a bit of sweetness; funky barn must, wet sacks of grain left to dry kind of funk

T: mouth-puckering sour, lemons, hay, musty barn air; the flavor notes are there but the big sour flavor up front dominates; as the palate adjusts, a hint of tart cherries peeks in ... they add an earthy flavor that cuts some of the sour

F: lightweight, feels lightly carbonated, a bit watery -- works well for the style

O: intensely sour to begin with, and it takes awhile for the palate to adjust to allow some of the cherry flavor to show up; very complex with a lot of different notes competing for attention; a big sweet aroma seems to be locked up and hidden in the nose and never allowed to break loose, while the flavor is always more sour with the cherries adding much more earthy/tart flavor than sweetness; a true "sour" lover's kriek lambic -- there's no hint of syrup
