375ml bottle, cork and caged. Bottled March 2015. Served in a tumbler glass.

Pours a darker reddish body, the slightest pink hue, one finger white head, slightest carbonation, not a ton of retention. Not much lacing. Smells of tart cherry skin, cherry flesh, leathery funk, wheat, a big bite of acetic acidity. Geez. Definitely big on the aromas. Flavour is even better, with a nice big acetic acidity, cherry skin and flesh. Leather, touch of citrus and funk. It's an intense, super tasty fruited lambic with a ton of cherry. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation despite the relatively minimal head on the pour, sour cherries on the finish. A mouthpuckering lambic with tons of sour cherry. It's similar to the 3F Schaerbeekse Kriek in the amount of tart cherry, although it brings quite a bit more tartness to the table.

750 mL bottle. Pours a deep red. Smells of intense cherry and a touch of vinegar. Very acidic smelling. A bit of lemon. Tastes immensely sour. Sour cherries and sour vinegar. Some oak and then more sour vinegar and lemon in the finish. Way too sour for me. Overwhelms every other flavor with sourness.

Bottled: March 2015

Appearance: Opaque with dark hues of red and purple giving it the appearance of cranberry juice. A short film of light purple bubbles appear when pouring but no head ever develops. The color of the Kriek is very beautiful. Despite the lack of head as the glass is tilted some very minor lacing develops as small bubbles cling to the glass.

Aroma: There is a sour aroma very characteristic to the Lambic style and not unique to the cherry fruit. A bit of sweet aroma is also there which does remind me of a fruit syrup. There is a very faint sweet cherry aroma.

Taste: Puckering sourness right out of the gate. There is a large hit of raspberry up front. This beer is all sourness. A bit of a ripe strawberry flavor surfaces as well. There is a bit of a Merlot flavor as well. It's not an extremely deep beer but it has a nice fruity overtone.

Mouthfeel: It is a very dry beer. Bone dry. There is a strong tartness and a bit of what seems like a chalky character in the aftertaste.

Overall: It really is what you expect out of a Kriek. It does tend to lack a bit of depth and complexity but overall it is well done and as a fruity tart Kriek it is quite enjoyable.

This is so polarising.
The taste is THUMP - full of cherries (and plums and blackberries!), so lingering, so intense. Quite dry.
But it's also flat.
And it's not quite sour enough - but maybe it needs time in the bottle.
Very drinkable.
The jury is out!

Beautiful deep blood red color on this. Head dissipates quickly. No lace. Aroma is initial cherry with an array of berries such as raspberry that catches you nicely. Taste is big time acidity up front with cherry juice on the finish. Pretty dribkable despite the puckering factor. This on par with many of the great sour cherry beers out there. Definitely pick this one up.

Intense, dark pink color with a slightly pink, thin foam. Aroma has some mellow earthy funk and tart cherry notes. Taste starts fruity up-front, quite sour but not really mouth puckering. You also get the underlying earthy, barnyard notes which are present but not as harsh as in other lambics. Body is quite soft for the style but I like it. Overall it's a really good fruit lambic. I had it one year old but maybe if it was fresher I would have enjoyed it even more.
