Dark red color with a short white head, sour aroma of vinegar, stale wine and cherries, taste is the same, heavy sourness, difficult to drink, definitely not my style.

Pours a dark purple with zero head.
Smell is tart with notes of cherries, vinegar, oak, lime and red wine.
Taste is sour with loads of acidity. Notes of cherries, oak, vinegar, citrus peel and red wine with a slight sweetness on the finish.
Mouthfeel is flat and smooth.
Overall, a very nice Kriek, but the acidity becomes a bit too much in the end.

Murky maroon with a beige bubble ring. Smell is pretty much cherry and vinegar laiden lacto with oak. Taste features giant lacto with dark cherry, vinegar, brett and oak as second wave. Not as complex as their other kriek, way more vinegar. Feel is more sour, much more acidic, still languid and sneaky thick though, more oaky and pungent.

750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6%. Deep red colour, low pink head. Funky aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, sweaty stable groom and sour cherries. The flavour has plenty of brettanomyces and loads of very sour cherries, hints of red wine vinegar. Very good.

Bought at Albo Drinks in Boechout. They always have a few exiting bottles.
I visited Hanssens in 2019 during the TDG. They are hard to find in regular shops. Hanssens is in my personal Geuze/Lambic top three.
Served in my usual tumbler. Beer is flat.
Colour is a dark warm red.
Scent is overpoweringly vinagar with some sweet cherry hints.
Flavour is very sour, but also loads of sweet cherries.
Mouthfeel is vinous and tart.
Aftertaste is identical, but sticky.
Powerful. A flavour bomb. Super sour. Everything I love in a good young Kriek.

I had this during SF Beerweek 2020 from the hand pump. Cask conditioned and delicious!
Pours a rich ruddy red, thin foaming with some life. Wonderfully vibrant aroma with the cherry notes upfront. Sharply tart, incredible finish.

Sampled fresh at the source during Toer De Geuze 2019. Deep saturated scarlet, light haze, bursting with rich juicy Schaerbeek cherries in aroma and taste. Concentrated and rich, tart and juicy pie cherry with a hint of cinnamon and almond from the pits. Crisp and acidic, zero vinegar. Intentional low carb level, this is unblended lambic and fruit. Overall it’s intense and distinctive with a ton of Schaerbeek cherries. Not for the novice crowd.
Side note: Still unblended lambic is intentional and traditional. Anyone can force carbonate beer. This is done the traditional way, straight from the barrel without CO2 added, which has become nearly extinct in our modern/filtered/sterilized world. This is often lost on international consumers. Go to Belgium and drink unblended lambic at the source, it will change your life and obliterate any misperceptions.
