Poured a hay like pale golden hue that is hazed out with a huge rocky snow white head that last all the way down glass leaving blankets of lacing as consumed.

Wonderful faint funk with a peppery hint that finishes with a candy sweet nose.

Easily approachable funk with peppery notes a yeasty subtle flavor that brings some pineapple like candy that goes down like honey dew vine water.

Quenching dry easy to drink brew well worth finding a good example.

Cork was dated 2/13 with NO skunky oxidized hop flavors or aromas. LOVED it!

A - golden hue, lightly hazy, with a nice amount of fluffy white head.

S - on the nose I get citrus, and a little farmhouse funk.

T - citrus, hay, a little grass, and funk with citrus.

M - smooth, yet there is enough substance to it to make it a little chewy.

O - one of the better saisons I've had. I highly recommend trying this if you have not already.

My previous review gave this low marks because it was skunked in a green bottle. Now were seeing it in brown bottles, and I can say this is the Saison standard bearer.

Pours light and very vibrant with the head. Go easy on the pour! If you can wait, the head will subside in a couple minutes.

The nose has the typical Belgian yeast aroma, frutiness, amd just a tiny bit grassy.

The first taste is Belgian, ever so slightly sour. The body is quite full and robust, indicative of the 6.5%. The finish stays with you - in a very good way.

While some may argue the ABV is higher than a traditional saison, this brew is amazing.

Poured this bottle against my Spring Hopper Saison as comparison.

A: Golden straw hue with excellent clarity. Active carbonation bubbles lifting to the fluffy white head. Pours very carbonated. Homebrew shares golden straw hue but clarity is hazy with fairly active carbonation. Dupont wins on giant foam head.

S: Dank and skunky per wife's comments. A little yeast and grassy / earthy notes. Homebrew is more robust / complex. Homebrew has more apparent notes of cloves and yeast breadiness to aroma. *I have no sense of smell.

T: That dank / funky aroma carries over nicely to flavors. Citrus, herbal, grassy, slight breadiness, and complimented very well by light hop bitterness notes sprinkled throughout. Sessionable as alcohol is hidden very well. Similar to smell - Homebrew is slightly more robust / filling with a more "homebrew" flavor. Yeast / breadiness flavors are also more apparent. Dupont finishes much dryer, lighter, and slightly more sessionable.

O: Dupont is the benchmark of a historical and inspiring beer. Great for the seasoned beer nerd or rookie just wanting something drinkable. Sessionable, well balanced, and just enough complexity to make it interesting & fun. Dupont is a legend but I think Spring Hopper Saison held up well and gives inspiration for the future!
