Poured from 375ml bottle into glass. Stamped bottling information is 'L15171A 09:46:41'.
Cloudy, pale gold colored body. Three finger fizzy head, settles to white cap. Spots of lacing.
Aroma of bread, fresh hay, and fruity esters.
Taste starts with the bread and hay, and goes to the sweet fruit.
Good supporting carbonation, rather dry finish.
Like smelling a late spring day after grass is cut down into hay.

This will be my first and last saison/farmhouse ale. I like Belgian sour ales but the saison/farmhouse style of beer is just too much for my palate to handle. Too barnyard funky for my taste buds to handle. C- (70-74)

Very hard to find in my area and quite pricey. $17 for a 4 pack of 11.2 oz bottles, yikes. It is a medium golden color with a slight haze. It has a head that appears almost solid that never seems to disappate. There is a constant stream of tiny bubbles coming up from the bottom. The smell is slightly sweet with some estery clove and banana that you get from a Hefeweizen. It also has some malty grain and fresh cut grass as well. The initial taste is similar to a Hefeweizen but then you get a barnyard type of hay flavor followed by some hop bitterness that reminds me of an ipa. The bitterness subsided and it finishes fairly dry. It doesn’t get much more complex than this. I still prefer Tank 7. Glad I tried it, might try it again if I can catch it on sale.

Finally. Ventured to City Beer store and grabbed one of these bad boys. Recommended by a coworker and glad I picked it up. Such a clean authentic yeast profile. Had plenty of saisons before and this is like a gathering of all the best parts of all the others. Just the look of it is amazing. Looks like the head will retain for hours (it will be in my belly too quickly to actually test that, though).

Poured from a 1 pint 9.4 ounce corked and caged bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "bottled on" date "11 2016".

APPEARANCE: pours a gorgeous hazy, straw color with billowing white head, I was not careful on the first pour and it was more than four fingers, highly carbonated like champagne, world class retention, there is moderate lacing on the glass, does not get much better than this.

SMELL: brown sugar, bread, fruity, some banana and wet hay.

TASTE: initially sweet and fruity then bread and some understated farmhouse funk, finishes dry.

PALATE: medium body and highly carbonated.

OVERALL: this is a world class Saison, there is none better than this that I have found so far, I nearly gave this a perfect score on appearance, I never give perfect scores because do not believe in perfection, this beer made me waver, it smelled wonderful and the taste was spectacular, this beer has the "farmhouse funk" you expect from this style but it's understated so the fruity taste dominates and it finishes dry, I also appreciate that the ABV is 6.5%, I will have this again very soon and will recommend to everyone I know who likes this style.
