Poured from a single serve bottle into a tulip.

Pours an outstanding hazy gold color--like a ripened peach. A big but quickly disappearing head gives way to outstanding lacing down the side of the glass. This is a beautiful beer.

Tart green apple aromas are balanced by sweet phenolic notes like pear and hints of tropical fruit. The aroma is subdued, which might be the only knock.

The flavor is rather sweet for the style, but still hits most of the right notes. Sour apple tartness with hints of tropical fruitiness and lots of white pepper spiciness from a particularly zesty yeast note. This might be one of the most yeasty saisons I've ever had and that is no problem with me. Nothing else about the brew is remarkable, except perhaps the lack of characteristic funk, but still, pretty good and balanced.

The mouthfeel is perhaps the best thing about the beer other than its look. It's very light, crisp, and champagne-like in its carbonation. Lots of tiny bubbles. Eminently drinkable.

This is an outstanding saison, though not a daring unique one.

Appearance: Poured hazy bright yellow with a very large white head. Presentation is nice, but the foam didn't linger around too long.

Aroma: sweet with strong aromas of yeast and bread. As it warmed up, it become more of a lemon sweet bread.

Taste: mildly yeasty with just a touch of citrus and finished with notes of sweetened bread. Also notes of champagne. The flavors aren't overly spicy or assertive like other farmhouse ales I have tried. Really easy on the palate.

Mouthfeel: light-bodied, spritzy, and satisfying.

Overall: solid beer. Would never consider myself to say a beer is "true to style." But this seems to be one of them. Very easy drinking beer.

Skunk aroma is strong and offputting at first, but you slide into it over the first few ounces. Strong Belgian Yeast. Notes of bread, apricot.
Mellows in taste.
Medium to Full bodied.

Paired with Prosciutto Cotto.

This brew pours light golden brown. Huge pale head on top. Muffin top style. Nose is of apricot and the all too familiar belgian yeast. The description on the bottle is right on the mark, "a big fruity bouquet, taste starts fruity but ends dry and very clean with a light refreshing body". If a hefeweizen was given a sharper bite it would be this. If you are looking for a solid brew, it is here guys and gals.

11.2oz bottle into Libbey tulip
unidentifiable date code
L- pours a hazy orange with a huge head, that quickly dissapates into white cap
S- loads of yeast, dryness that some would say is 'crackery', and lemon
T- sweet & yeasty, I'm not gonna lie this reminds me of a Hefewiezen, and continues with some funk, a hint of the lemon shows up as well, with slightest hop bitterness on the finish
F- super creamy and effervescent, with a nice dry tingle
O- this is a classic for a reason, a complex Saison that is the benchmark for the style

I liked this beer overall, but this bottle may have been rather old, as I did not get the most intense aroma. In fact, I really got nothing on the nose. Looks very pretty, with a big, bubbly white head. Taste is light to medium body and smooth. Definitely some hops and spices, but I am not a huge fan of the carbonated mouth feel. Thought it went down rather rough. Honestly kind of a letdown considering the price.

This beer has a huge head! The foam rose about 2 solid inches. . . And sustained itself for quick a bit.

Overall, I was expecting more but it was good. Nothing special or great in my opinion.

The feel was very nice. Medium body, refreshing, medium carbonation.

Can't say much about flavor, mind to light fruit notes. . .

Good but I would not buy again.

Bottled on 03/2016. Cork flew out of the bottle when opened, landing five feet away. Served from bottle into glass at home. First pour is entirely foam. Second, slower pour reveals a pale gold beer, fairly hazy with a large fluffy white head. Intense and complex aroma: fruity, spicy, earthy, and herbal. Hard to distinguish which aspects of the aroma comes from hops or yeast. Flavor is similarly complex more fruit and spice with a background of light golden, slightly caramel malt. Again difficult to parse out the yeast or hop contributions. Very dry finish with low bitterness and no detectable alcohol flavor. Medium full body and a slippery mouthfeel before the drying effect of the finish. Overall this beer definitely deserves its place as a classic. The weird complex aroma and flavor defines the style and quite frankly puts many American craft saisons to shame. A beautiful beer that can be analyzed and aged or simply drank on a hot day.

Only beer I've ever understood the "barnyard" descriptor. This beer embodies it.

I'm a huge Saison fan. This is always the first beer I look for at any brewhouse. Without a doubt, this is the Saison that I use as the measuring point to compare all Saisons to. Everything about this beer is world class. If you want to see what a TRUE Saison should taste like. Make this your go to.

Good presence of swirling cloudiness on the poor. Respectable head fades quickly. Nice aroma; good saison flavor. The beer's considerable assets are undercut, however, by an aggressive mouthfeel.
