A: pours a golden orange with a clean, smooth, white; one finger head
S: classic dupont yeast nose along with some subtle citrus and some warm breadiness, there is a zesty character in the citrus here as well as some blanc grape and maybe even some pineapple
T: immediately present is the sweet fullness (suggesting caramel/crystal malts) and unmistakable character of the dupont yeast (so very distinct, you can't miss it), there is a nice, subtle (and clean) hop bite here, offsetting the sweetness, the old adage about beer being liquid bread makes a lot of sense in the context of foret, though not in a grainy way, there is something incredibly (and to it's credit I might add) bready about this beer. some lemon and lime here as well.
M: like all dupont offerings that I've had, dry as hell (I like it that way)
O: I'd like to have this next to the classic saison dupont to compare them, because in some ways I think I might like this better, a very good beer, though great (achieving any sense of classic status) might be a stretch. worth your time.

Pours a completely hazed, vibrant darker yellow, with a huge, stable white head.

Smells of sour sweet lemon bonbon, Duponts spicy yeast peofile, defined by clove and peppers, and white bread dough. Has a nice flowery undertone, blending perfectly into a cakey sweetness.

Drinks super smooth with a world class smoothness to it, soothing the spices coming from the yeast, while a lively carbonation during the finish is still able to cut through.

Combines a nice leafy hoppiness with a crisp, lemon accompanied sweetness, balanced by a flowery infusion and the spices. Finishes even sweeter, with rock sugar among more profound spices and an effervescent carbonation, opening up the palate to an aqueous softness.

Another winner from this brewery, perfect for warm summer days - while this is certainly well crafted enough to convince on its own as well. Packs a great lemon / flowery interplay, resulting in a pungent, sweet spiciness.

I love this beer. It is rustic, sweet, a touch spicy, and just a very faint bit tart, but it seems more to me like a light Tripel than a saison. That is the only reason I don't score it higher. Cheers!
