2018 vintage; drank 2/22/26 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy dark orange appearance; champagne bubbles were present throughout.

A slow pour yielded a small, noisy white head; nice lacing remained.

Apple cider, well-preserved wood & faint rye bread notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel with a sharp, carbonated bite.

Apple cider flavor up front; well-preserved wood and nice minerality on the finish.

This is an old beer, but it's held up very well. I wish I had tried it fresh!

Copenhagen 28/11 2019. 33 cl bottle from Køl Beer Web-shop. Golden label meticulously explaining that this is a collaboration beer and that it is Hirond’ Ale No. 2.0.

Pours unclear golden yellow with some sediments floating around. Medium-sized white, fluffy head. Settles as thin creamy layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial Lacing.

Aroma is intense, sharp citric and lightly spicy. Citrus with hints of lemonade, light sugary feel underneath. Light odor of sweet Apricot and peach. Black pepper.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium sweet followed by a slightly stronger sour citric bitterness. Aftertaste is citric sour. Lingers for a bit. Semi-dry finish.

Solid Saison with a fine balance between lemonade sweetness and citrus fruit.

On tap at Beermongers today. Have no idea how they managed to latch onto a keg of this stuff.

The beer pours a clear golden amber color with good head retention and light lacing. On the nose this really smells a lot like a Dupont saison. There's light honey, clove, nutmeg and allspice.... maybe a hint of underlying cherry as well. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely in this moderately sweet saison. Not getting a lot of hoppy bitterness, which is somewhat atypical for a dupont saison. Regardless, this is pretty well balanced and is very easy drinking. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a moderately long, clean finish. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile and drinkability is pretty high.

Nice collaboration from the folks at Dupont and Allagash. Would definitely order again.

Pours a hazy, medium dark gold color with a foamy head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of grains and apples. Taste of peppery, slightly sour apple juice. Crisp and dry.

Pours a bright hazy gold, with a thick, dense, white head that persisted to the last sip. Lacing on the glass and a few yeast dregs from the bottle

The aroma is faintly sweet, with subtle notes of lemon, bread, and yeast. Complex and appealing.

The flavor is much like the aroma, with subtle notes of lemon, bread, and yeast. There is just enough bitterness to remove any perception of sweetness. Complex and appealing, just like the aroma.

Despite its high carbonation and medium-light body, the beer never seemed fizzy or watery. The finish is clean, dry, and neutral, with maybe a hint of yeast.

Subtle, but complex, and very appealing.

(From 11.2 Oz bottle into glass)
L: 1 finger off white head. Hazy gold color. Some frothy head remains on top. Nice lacing. Plenty of yeast sediment.

S: yeast and sourdough bread. Lots of citrus, hops. Floral notes. Spicy background.

T: Bit of a bitter hops character in there. Plenty of spicy notes too, probably from the rye. Cloves, coriander, and pepper thrown in. Yeast mustiness at the finish. Tiny touch of the hops right at the end as well.

M: medium bodied. The yeast flavor and carbonation are well balanced. I would say it’s *less* carbonated than a typical saison DuPont.

O: Balanced, great notes, good collaboration.

Look: It pours hazy golden with a slightly off white head. The head has very tight beading and head retention is excellent.

Smell: It has aromas of lemon, coriander and spicy rye. There are some doughy wheat back ground notes with a flowery type note as well.

Taste: It has lemon, spicy rye, doughy wheat and coriander flavors. There is a perfumy floral type note in the background with a slight candy like element with citrus.

Feel: It has a medium body with a dry finish.

Overall, a complex combination of flavors that blends well together.

A - Restrained pour into chalice producing a moderately to highly carbonated, cloudy straw-colored brew. This pour resulted in a small 1" snow white colored head with moderate lacing.

S - Notes of barley, rye, and oat come through at the forefront; bread notes also shine through. Rye seems most prevalent.

T - Amazing. To be completely honest, saisons have never been a style I was very fond of. With that being said, this brew is absolutely fantastic. For me, that's saying a lot. It's something about the clean, dry, crispness of this beer that I adore. It's not overpowering, it's very well-balanced, and it's very refreshing.

M - Not too thick or thin, nor does it stick to the palette in an unpleasant way. It has a lot of character but is still very easy drinking.

D - Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. I really like this brew (as if you couldn't tell). I would buy this one again without a second thought. Whether or not you're a fan of saisons, I recommend that you try this one.

12oz. bottle served in my Allagash cervoise. Pours a lovely, honey-gold with a dense, 1.5 inch, bright white head. Copious tiny bubbles are present effervescing in-solution. Nose is very subdued - some herbal notes and perhaps a hint of lemon. Taste consistent with nose - fairly dull with a little diacetyl at the finish. Nice mouthfeel on this beer. Light and effervescent. Overall, this collaboration did not do it for me. Not sure if it's the age of the bottle; however, both brewers produce a farmhouse that ages quite well.
