L. Dark brown poured into a glass with fluffy white head that dissipates reasonably quickly. Looks like my favourite style of beer! S. Not much I could pick up but a hint of malt, sugar, maybe coffee. T. Stronger than the smell but subdued. Dark malt, a touch of coffee, not really sweet and finishes dry. F. Light for a stout, very drinkable. O. Okay, nothing outstanding but enjoyable.

Pours midnight cueball black with decent collar to start but dissipates quickly. A weak nose awaits of some coffee and malt. Taste is unassuming with slight hop and chocolate finish. Overall, an ok beer.

Great looking beer, but absent of most of the sturdiness and muscle you'd expect of a stout. Some char, a little chocolate, but really understated overall. Most alzrming, though, is the thin watery character of the beer. Disappointing.

L- Super-dark chestnut brown, I only get a glint of light through it when held right in front of a halogen, poured clear (sediment in bottle), with big/fast/eager 4Cm mid-tan pillowy head. The bottle was chilled+poured slowly, and thank heavens, as it still took at least 5mins to pour with no resting the bottle - take it easy too is my tip!
S- Nice toasty charred timber smell, with hints of some richness.
T- Brighter than anticipated. I appreciate it's 5.2% but the look/smell suggest a meatier flavour. The 'bright' aspect is a combo of hoppy-dryness and I believe a *minor* sour facet. ... plus a smokey notes.
F- It feels a touch light. Put another way I'd be interested in trying a say 7.5-8% version of this same beer.
O- I'm not sure this justifies buying as a rather specialist import from abroad. Perhaps in Belgium if you lived where it's common to find it would be worth it, it would certainly be less expensive. Not one I'd buy again, it's just not doing what a beer at this price should be.
Bought from BelgiumInABox @Antwerp/BE for home delivery to me in London/UK. BB: 02/2022. 330ml bottle Euro2.70, which is around the same price as many seriously good Trappist Tripels/Quads etc from that same shop, hence my feeling underwhelmed...

Look: Pours dark brown, reminiscent of a cola. 2 fingers of tan foam head which break down slowly leaving a thin head across the entire snifter. Lots of carbonation.
Smell: Smell is pretty basic, it's a little sharp and astringent. Not the rich chocolate and coffee notes I was hoping for.
Taste: Joyless, and watery on the front end. Sharp in the middle with a taste like a mineral water (Evian?). A little smoky on the back end, which gives way to a strange sharp aftertaste.
Feel: Watery and light. This beer lives high in the mouth on the palate. Nothing of note on any part of the tongue.
Overall - this beer earns a C.

De Decervecitas. En copa Teku. Adaptando GestorRed a CUC 12.5 Algo sobrecarbonatada y con un puntito acido que no termina de convencer aunque tampoco la hace desagradable. Simplemente aburre

330 ml bottle served fairly cold into a tulip. LCBO purchase for $3.35 CDN. I never knew Dupont did a stout until I saw this. Best before September 2021.

Appearance - Dark, dark brown, appearing black in the glass. Nearly two fingers of loose light tan head is poured, fizzles down to three quarters of a finger before maintaining. No lacing to speak of.

Smell - Faint coffee and chocolate notes, some roasty and astringent grain underneath. Maybe a fragment of vanilla for good measure.

Taste - Some coffee, burnt malts, a little earthy and some mineral water. A yeasty little bit in there too.

Mouthfeel - Thinner bodied and crazily carbonated, gives a spritzy feel which maybe a little closer in line with a black lager, but certainly not a stout. The feel is way-off.

Overall - If the feel was better, this would be a perfectly acceptable stout, however due to the thin body and crazy carbonation, the drinking experience just isn't that pleasant. Given the lower average score I was a bit surprised, however now having experienced the brew, I understand it a lot better. Possibly worth trying a bottle for novelties sake, otherwise, this might be the only Dupont product I'd feel safe giving a pass to.
