From notes taken 02/14/17:
At first, bright yellow, not even what I would call golden. Think somewhere between straw gold and Mellow Yellow. But then, adding the rest it gets mirkier and darker, with some fleas here and there. Very light and fluffy lemon-white head of good retention, with layered but broken ringlets of lace. Smells like zest and a little like mild cheddar, but that is not a complaint. As this off-gasses, I detect more floral and rindy hops. Grass, cracker, quite a bit of yeast, lemon and orange rind on palate with strong peppercorn and mild soap (and plenty more yeast) showing in the finish, retro-olfaction not even required, though it amplifies it further. Medium-bodied, watery, spritzy and prickly but still relatively tame carbonation.
Woohoo! 10th review!

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, there is no "best by" date that I can find.
APPEARANCE: pours a hazy, golden color with less than one-finger white head that quickly dissipated until a thin, broken layer of small bubbles remained, medium carbonation, there is moderate lacing on the glass.
SMELL: honey, bread and tropical citrus like grapefruit and pineapple, there is also some faint pine resin.
TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet honey and bread then a pleasant burst of tropical grapefruit and pineapple, finishes with mild pine resin.
PALATE: medium body and carbonation.
OVERALL: this is an excellent pale ale, tropical citrus hops are the popular trend right now and I like it just fine, I would buy this again and would recommend to anyone who enjoys the style.

The 1020 is a decent pale ale. It poured a clear golden with big white head that is leaving some lace. The scent has hints of pine. The taste starts like a very nice pale ale with pine and slight citrus hint. The finish though come of more malty and sort of sweet. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is worth a try.

Tasted in a Teku glass from a 12 oz bottle on November 14, 2015. Look is bright gold, with a thin head and some lacing. Smell is citrus zest and pine. Taste is bitter citrus fruit and pine resin. Feel is light in body with a crisp bitter finish.

Pours a hazy light orange with a thin white head. A very light citrus smell with some funk. Quite bitter right off the bat. The citrus really doesn't come out very well, and the malt does not blend. Piney resin finish lingers, but not pleasant. Funk taste as well. Food individual characteristics, but it simply does not come together.

A nice gold color with a quickly disappearing head. Typical pale ale citrus aroma. Very dry body with a lot of bitterness that makes it a bit unbalanced. The hop flavors almost seem stale, not what I'm looking for in the style.

Bright golden ale with light lacing. Very hoppy, driving a bright citrus flavor with a strong citrus follow through. Nice bitterness, but a relatively unbalanced beer as the relatively light malt is overrun by the hops and even though I love hops, I do prefer it to be balanced. Medium to light carbonation (but bottle conditioned so this may vary from bottle to bottle) with a fairly nice mouth feel. Clean offering, which personally is a bit unbalanced, but still an enjoyable pale ale offering.
