12 oz. Can

Pours a nice yellow color, nice carbonation, with a pretty nice small off-white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, yeasty, with some citrus. The taste is hoppy, malty, citrusy. Medium body, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew.

I bought a can of Major Tom off the single shelf at Binnys. It poured a murky gross yellow with thin white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had hints of biscuit. The taste was fruity with some wheat counter. The Mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's not for me.

I had this in bottle form a while back, and I may even have a bottle still buried in my backlog, but tonight belongs to The CANQuest (tm)!

From the CAN: "Ameri[CAN]-style fruit wheat beer brewed with pomegranate and pink peppercorn for a hazy-golden hue, mild hop aroma and sweet, tart finish. Tried-and-true and cleared for landing."; "Family owned & operated since 2003"; "Pairs well with: Steamed Mussels, Lemon Meringue Pie"; "Ale brewed with pomegranate juice and spices".

Upon Crack!ing the CAN open, I immediately got some foaming through the vent. I am tiring of babysitting beers that CANnot behave in a CANstructive manner. I decided not to ChANce an inverted Glug & went with a gentle one, instead. I ended up with two fingers of puffy, fluffy, bone-white head with moderate retention. Color was a cloudy (not hazy, own it!) Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose smelled like JuicyFruit chewing gum - very fruity, but too much of a mélange of aromas to discern one from another. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not outright watery, but definitely lacking in body. The taste was interesting, jumping from sweet to tart and back again, but it never established itself one way or the other. That said, it was perfect on a hot, humid summer evening. Finish was dry and refreshing and when combined with its old wetness coming out of my reefer, it was welcomed.

As it turned out, I was correct! There was, indeed, one hiding in the Bottle Backlog awaiting me. Today is Su, 11 Dec 2016 & I am divesting myself of these pesky bottles.

From the bottle: "Our most unique creation is the result of the tasteful infusion of pomegranate into one worthy wheat ale. The outcome is a refreshingly crisp, straw blonde brew that finishes sweet and tart - just the way we like it."

I really agitated the bottle before Pop!ping the cap, especially since it is a Wheat Beer of some stripe, not necessarily a Witbier. An aggro pour produced two-plus fingers of dense, rocky, eggshell-white head with good retention. Color was a cloudy Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9). Nose had a tartness that I might have identified as cranberry had I not known that it was wheat and pomegranate. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was nicely tart, not overpowering, and while I still might not have been able to guess pomegranate, it was not cranberry, either. The wheat gave it a light dryness that made it refreshing. Finish was semi-dry and more suited for hot, humid summer weather. So be it.

L: cloudy Amber, with a thick lacing head
S: fruity, with a yeastiness
T: starts out like a decent here, but falls off from there, the fruit is almost artificial and there is a slight tang
F: awful aftertaste
O: I was hoping for more out of this beer, and I'm disappointed

12 oz bottle. The brew was a crisp, light straw color with a slight haze to it. Like most flavored beers, the pomegranate was fairly light, but surprisingly pleasant. Could see myself drinking this on a very hot day, very refreshing.
