APPEARENCE: Reddish amber colored brew with an off white head. Good clarity, retention is about average.

SMELL: Nutty, toasted malt and some floral hops. Comes off herbal and spicy. A bit of molasses and brown sugar.

TASTE: A firmly malty beer with a strong hop flavor. Roasted, nutty malts, and citrus hops. Some spice and pine chime in as well.

MOUTHFEEL: Medium bodied, well carbonated which holds well.

OVERALL: An enjoyable American amber ale. Good balance of flavor and is easy to drink. Would go well with a pulled pork sandwich.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.

Real nice looker. Very deep chestnut color out of the bottle, hitting the glass and settling to a real deep blood red with big brown mahogany colors. Head is fluffy kind of a yellowy tan with some clumpy retention, minimal lacing, and grows easily to three fingers. Settles to a very thick laced collar.

Real solid nose on this brew. Spicy cinnamon and caramel like malts. A sense of boozy heat strangely it seems, or it could be the spicy character going overboard. A little bit doughy too with some good malt thickness. Very nice.

Flavors are there but the body feel is just a little watery and weak, not much carbonation. Good malt richness with a large spicy hop like sensations. Large aftertaste of hop oils somewhere between grapefruit and some herbal tea angle. Garden green fresh with limited light caramel and some slow stronger milk chocolate sensations.

It's nearly a four overall but the mouthfeel is just not all there to give the beer some depth and added body. Still it's an enjoyable amber either way.

A: The beer is clear very dark reddish amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin tan head that quickly died down, leaving lacing on the surface, a collar around the edge and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of toasted malts are present in the nose along with some hints of sweetness.
T: The taste is dominated by flavors of sweet toasted malts. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and quite smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I really liked the smoothness of this beer and the strong flavors of toasted malts. There was some sweetness, but not enough to make it cloying.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours deep crimson red with thick off white foam. Toffee caramel nose. Bready. Taste is nutty and sweet, caramel malt backed by a very tiny hop bitter. Light mouthfeel, minimal carbonation, needs a little more buzz. Liquid candy.

Pours a ruby red hue with a small short lived beige head, some light lacing. Aroma and Taste of caramel malt, yeast and fruity esters with some good earthy hops. Palate is a medium body, slightly smooth mouth feel with moderate carbonation. Finishes with caramel malt, yeasty fruity flavors with some earthy hops bitterness for balance and a bit of a nutty ending. Overall a good amber ale.
