A beautiful copper color with a rich malt profile. The malt is perfectly balanced by a moderate noble hop bitterness. Traditionally drank in small pours and in somewhat rapid succession, this beer goes down easy and delivers big on flavor. Think of it as a maltier and slightly hoppier Kolsch.

This Altbier clocks in at a breezy 5.0% and offers a pleasant caramel sweetness and nuttiness from the malts and bright herbal and floral notes from the Tettnang and Saaz hops.

A 1" frothy, off-white head gradually settles, leaving two layers of lacing on the Stigle Stange: A fine coating then thick patches as the session proceeds. The beer is clear with a bright copper, almost amber hue (SRM 11-14).

Toasted caramel malt is a pleasant greeting, followed by Brulé and walnuts. There is a light peppery edge of hops and a floral hint deep in the background.

The flavor is clean, with a crisp balance between bitter & sweet. Both are moderate to light. The toasted malt gives way to the walnuts, just before a mildly astringency takes one into a long finish. This is reminiscent of a Dunkel.

Alcohol is light, about as expected. Soft carbonation lifts the smooth, medium body up, just avoiding an unctuous feel.

This is a very easy drinking beer, suitable for big gulps and a second round.
