The bottle is the best part of this brew. Pretty light tasting. The combination of black and tan is somewhat underwhelming. Drank it super cold so this was a refreshing change of pace from the other hoppy beers I had consumed this afternoon. Overall it was fun

Poured from 1 quart/946ml bottle into glass. No bottling date information found on bottle or label.
Clear, medium amber colored body. Off white cap persists. Rings of lacing set up after each sip.
Dull, mostly dark malts in the aroma.
Taste is toffee/caramel malts (sweet), slight twang (bitter coffee). A little chalky at the end, rather dry. Not much aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel, rather smooth.
An easy drinking beer, lends itself to long pub sessions. The mix is a good idea, and results in a beer that drinks like a cola (but with ABV).

The bottle got me, I just couldn't walk away from it...

Though not one of the best B&T's I've ever had, it wasn't the worse. Decent coloration, good lacing down the glass, and some decent staying power when it came to the foam. The smell was non-descript to go with a mouthfeel that was lightly carbonated and the beer itself was light- to medium-bodied. The taste was more than okay and though not necessarily memorable, it was decent enough. Overall it was a good brew, I'm glad I picked it up, but probably won't be on the lookout for the future.

16 ounce can poured into a pint glass

A: Pours like a root beer, light brown color with a tan head, creamy lacing, no retention.

A: Lots of caramel and toffee malts, light brown sugar, smells like a coke, rum-like sweetness, smells sweet not getting any roasted notes from the porter that's supposedly in it.

T: Taste like a brown ale with a touch of light brown sugar and rummy sweetness, caramel and toffee malts, light toasted bread, moderate amount of coffee like bitterness, finish is dry with a watered down porter like finish,

M: Light, lots of carbonation, fairly easy to drink.

O: I enjoyed this, a very light easy to drink porter with some slight brown ale notes. I was expecting less from this beer.

This is one of my all-time favorite beers. I drink it from the cool little jug it comes with, and usually frost it in the freezer (from warm) for about an hour.
Look: Well, they don't call it a black and tan for nothing, but it has an almost oily look from the two types of beer mixed together. I like it a lot.
Smell: Sweet aromatic.
Taste: Nutty aftertaste, very pleasant to my taste-buds.
Feel: It goes down watery, and has a crisp carbonation, MAKE SURE IT IS ALMOST ICE COLD!

Had this one straight from the csn and also from the bottle. The bottle is much more impressive than the ale. Some roast, some malt sweetness, no noticeable hopping. Watery taste and feel. Again, nice bottle.

Reviewed from notes. From out of this mini-growler, this beer shows a dark hazy brown to black sort of color with a minimally white foamy head that ends up leaving a slight trickling lacing that slides right on into the body. The smell, well, there’s the German malts, somewhat Pilsener like but still letting the roasty sort of quality running about it, but its mainly just roasty and doesn’t really show anything else. The taste was basically just roasty and sweet and had a weird bland dry aftertaste and finish. On the palate, it sat between a light to medium and had a decent sessionability running about it. Carbonation seemed okay, but nothing over the top. Overall, not a bad black & tan, but also not a really pre-made version of one.
