Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 10.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This oak-aged gentle giant has been gaining popularity over the past few years and is now available year-round.

For Burton Baton, we brew two "threads," or batches, of beer: an English-style old ale and an imperial IPA.

After fementating the beers separately in our stainless tanks, they're transferred and blended together in one of our large oak tanks. Burton Baton sits on the wood for about a month.

When enjoying the Burton Baton, you'll find an awesome blend of the citrus notes from Northwestern hops melding with woody, vanilla notes from the oak. The wood also tends to mellow the 10% ABV of Burton, so tread cautiously!

Had this beer over the summer I thought it was simply amazing! Got some more bottles and giving it another go!

Pours a nice amber color, very clear and clean. About an inch of well retaining foamy head rests at the top. Lots of citrus and herbal notes on the nose. Smells a little oily and kind of like the 90 minute IPA but a bit more pungent. Creamy and thick mouth feel. Huge Body but still some decent carbonation and it goes down easy. Drinking a little too easy actually! This is going down fast for a 10 percenter. Some woody and biscuity maltiness upfront. The perfect amount of malt as well, you get the flavor but no lingering sweetness. Some citrus in the middle and then nice piney hop finish with a little oak.

This is honestly one of the best balanced beers I've ever had. Simply put, this is an amazing beer, with amazing taste and amazing drinkability!
