Got this one at the DFH Alehouse in Falls Creek, VA, poured into a snifter. $26 for a 750ml bottle, which was absurdly expensive, but I split it with three friends. This one's not really a fruit beer as expected. A little more interesting. Pours a fairly good looking amber/copper color with a very slight touch of head on top. No real head. It's kind of a weird combination of barley wine and fruit beer, tons of raspberries thrown in there as well. Lots of spicy goodness. Body is fairly full and syrupy, as I said, barley-wine-esque. Not one you could drink a bunch of, but splitting up it works at well. Overall, this one's alright I dunno, this one was very interesting for a fruit beer. A lot more beery, with some interesting malt flavors, and then with some raspberries thrown in, than most fruit beers. Very tasty, although it took a minute to throw down.

First, I bought this for my wife and her friend, neither like beer. They did not like this one, so I was left drinking this 750 ml bottle by lonesome. So, my handwriting is a little hard to read, I don't no why, maybe 18%. Anyway it is poured inot an oversized wine glass, a ruby red color. There is touches of amber along the sides of the glass. A head forms thinly on top and is is a pale pink color. The sweet scent of malt comes out at first, then followed by the fruity aroma of rasberries; there is a little twinge of alchol in there, but not too off setting. The malt is striking as the first flavor one tastes, your expecting more of a twang, like a lambic. The malt flows to the tartness of the rasberries, there also might be the slightest bit of hoppy bitterness at the end. A very dry finish, the rasberry tartness does linger on the palate, but the tingling of the carbonation blends it out of the way. Truely a unique beer, this a definite beer to have wine people to try, plus an excellent pairing with maybe a chocolate tort.

This one aged a couple years (I had a taate of a fresh one too). It definitely mellows quite nicely with age. It is still a little boozy, but the raspberry character has become more prominent

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a yellow color and a slightly hazy consistency. There was a big, foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.

S: A big, fruity aroma featuring raspberries, malt, a touch of hops and a lot of booze.

T: Tasted of raspberries, hops, and some malt. The alcohol, while somewhat well masked,is unavoidable. Nonetheless, this is a pretty solid flavor.

M: A decent amount of carbonation with a slick finish. Medium-bodied.

D: Like a lot of DFH beers this one will not appeal to everyone. However, this is still a drinkable beer.
